Actually, I think he was faster than 3 cars that made the race.

Re: Speaking of Mikey

I would like to see him get it together and start making some races. I was really pulling for him yesterday. Really is sad that he was faster than some that made the race but yet he didn't make it.

Not me. He's ruined himself with his mouth and sponsor-whoring. I learned to despise the guy when he was in the Bill Davis Dodge, calling it, the Napa Car. Then spewing how great Toyotas are with quotes like, "we just got a new Camry and it's great!" after qualifying a Dodge, or when broadcasting the Truck Series, "look at all them Tundras up front, man what a great truck". This was last year, when he wasnt even in Toyotas yet and wouldnt shut up about them. Broadcasters should be un-biased and call the race, not turn it into an informercial.

Re: Speaking of Mikey

Correct me if I am wrong but dosen't NASCAR rules state that you need both a valid state drivers permit and a NASCAR permit to race? If so the court may fix NAPA's problem for them.Reckless driving and leaving the scene can cause Mikey to lose it.

We are of the same opinion on this issue. He is a loud mouth who is now getting what he deserves. He was never that good of a driver and more than likely it was his brother that got him into the big dance. I can't believe he has any qualities that got him there.

The bigger question is what will happen next year. Unless hell freezes over he isn't going to end up in the top 35 this year which means he'll have to qualify again next year. I suspect that NAPA wants more exposure than what they get during qualifying.

Re: Speaking of Mikey

I feel bad for Mikey. He's getting heat for something that wasn't his fault. I've never found Mikey as a loud mouth, just someone who is passionate about NASCAR and loves the sport. He's just in tough times right now, I'm sure he will turn it around eventually, which I think he can.

I agree with both of you. I wish some one would just step on him. The only thing that would make that better is if he would take Dim Wit with him.

Troll, Nevada, and LSC--

Ok ... I'm sick of this! Help me to understand why you guys are so damn relentless trashing the Waltrips!

Don't bring up the "sponsor-whore" thing. All drivers do that! And I don't want to hear that DW is a lousy announcer. Don't mention Toyota. That's new this year, and can't be why you hate him/them.

Each of you give me 5 good reasons and/or examples why you hate these guys so much. What have they said/done over the years that causes such distain?

Enlighten me. What do you know about the Waltrips that I don't?

He's a turncoat greed monger, passionate about money and glory. He and his brother both got their claims to fame driving Chevys, and now barely acknowledge they exist because they are in bed with Toyota. I wish Dale Earnhardt never hired him and Hornaday got the ride he deserved in the 15 car. If that happened, we wouldnt be having these discussions because Mikey would still be floundering around in mid-pack, never having had any wins. DEIs plate program is the ONLY reason Mikey has any wins at all. I agree with LSC, he is getting what he deserves.

Re: Speaking of Mikey

I don't think he's the only one that started driving for one manufacturer and then changed and never mention or act like he ever drove the other one. I think he'll get it turned around. Probably be closer to the end of the year though.

Re: Speaking of Mikey

In a race in the early 90s, Waltrip punched driver Dave Marcis. Waltrip was fined $500 for his actions.
In 1996, Waltrip again lashed out at a fellow driver, this time Lake Speed. Waltrip struck Speed twice while Speed was still strapped in his car. Waltrip was fined $10,000 for his actions.
Waltrip had a much-publicized feud with Jeff Green, then driver of Petty Enterprises #43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Charger in the early part of the 2005 season, which came to a head during races at Martinsville and Darlington, where Green and Waltrip wrecked each other on several occasions.[7]
In the 2005 Sylvania 300, Waltrip was involved in a wreck with driver Robby Gordon the driver of the #7 Jim Beam Kentucky Bourbon Chevrolet. The angered Gordon got out of his totaled car and threw his helmet at the #15 car as it was passing by. When TNT interviewed him about the crash he stated "People think Michael is a good guy, but he's not a good guy. The caution came out and he wrecked me; he's just a piece of ****."[8] On the next caution lap around, some viewers claimed that Waltrip flipped Gordon the finger as he drove by, although subsequent video replays are inconclusive and Waltrip denies making the gesture. TNT apologized for the incident on both driver's behalf, and both Gordon and Waltrip were required to meet with NASCAR officials after the race. Gordon was fined $50,000 and docked 50 drivers' points. And he is a cheater (Daytona 2007)
Is this enough PPS or do you want more?

Hey, I'm passionate bout money too....lol. As far as Ron Hornaday, I love to watch him drive them trucks. He's the only one I pull for there. But he's not all that good in a cup car either. Granted he's better than Mikey but not by much.
