| Re: Tony's comments Let's face it, we all see what we want to see, and we may interpret statements in different ways. Not to jump on Montoya bashing again, but there are those who say Stewart took out Montoya. As I've said before, Montoya moved up the track. End of story. Did he do it on purpose, nope. Tony speaks of retirement, and holy cow! What a ruckus! My opinion is there's no way Tony will retire. He's got much more to accomplish. I will agree, believe it or not, that Gordon's whining has been toned down, but we'll see what happens the next time somebody wrecks him. I love Martin, but everyone knows he hates restrictor-plate racing. He made that very clear during interviews after he had been wrecked. Was that whining? No. Complaining? Yes. The best thing a pi$$ed off driver can do, is walk straight to the trailer and cool off before speaking to the media. I've seen Tony do that many times. Haven't you? There's also the "happy" heat of the moment. Remember Jr. in Victory Lane? He was fined for using one word ... one! Let's try something during the Live Chat on Sunday. If/when a driver wrecks and he is interviewed, let's see if they are whining, complaining, or simply stating the facts. This is racing, ladies and gentlemen, not figure skating!

2. Gordon is far from being NASCAR's pet, lol. If he was, Jeff wouldn't have been penalized at Daytona. Anyway, this is a Tony Stewart thread, not a Jeff Gordon this and that, so back to Tony. I think it was in the heat of the moment. Guys like Tony, Gordon, etc are fierce competitors, and if they don't win or get spon, they are gonna be upset about it. Do you ever hear Jeff whine when it isn't in the heat of the moment? No. But, Tony has something to complain about all the time, and instead of trying to get NASCAR to fix it, he bashes NASCAR and bashes Goodyear. That's not a good way to get something fixed. |

Anyway, my response to this post is simply this, and I quote this from an outside friend. "You may get into arguments about NASCAR and drivers, but it shows your passion for the sport, and that's what counts the most." "Every fierce competitor that cares about doing well will be upset if he dosen't, it's been like that since sports has been around." |

| Re: Tony's comments Complaining, bashing, whinning ....... those are all a matter of perception. If it's my driver then it is just complaining. If it is the driver I dislike then it becomes whinning. Now that we all agree to disgree we can finally drop the matter of perception and get back to the TOPIC .... TONY. |

| Re: Tony's comments They almost all whine to a certain point, just some more than others. And the ones that don't whine complain. Maybe since Tony has a girl and is all serious and all, he's ready to retire and not take a chance anymore with his life. At this point I don't imagine it's a have to for the money. And maybe with the way they are doing everything in Nascar, maybe he's not enjoying it as much. I guess when you look at that way, who could blame him. |
