I'm not defending something I can't verify but how do you know one way or another that she doesn't talk to them on a regular basis ?????

So how is it that we are so quick to say otherwise ? I'm not pointing the finger at you, way to many people seem to have this thing about her not being at the track but no one has a truthful answer as to why she's not there.

I don't know why she's not there or why she is. I do know she's doing some good with the Dale Earnhardt Foundation. And with what she's doing there she can't be all bad.

J.D. McDuffy, I remember that race, it was a road couse, but not sure which one.
they held up sheets to block the camaras.... you knew it was bad.

not sure but wasn't joe weatherly killed on track in the #3 also.

I think we'll see the #3 back on track some day, just not while richard childress is in control.

I hear that DEI offered kelly everything she asked for.

JD died in 1991 at Watkins Glen. You are partially correct on the Joe Weatherly issue. He did die on the track but was driving the number 8 at the time. As an interesting side note Fireball Roberts (who died on th etrack) also ,at one time, drove the number 3. Quite a few well known names have been behind the wheel of the number 3.

Re: Deal or no deal, Teresa

jr. johnson also drove the #3.
I agree that numbers should not be retired, nor should run the 0* numbers.

such as 01,02,07,09.
there are 99 numbers. until they are all used up they should not go to the others.

What about the #7, #28 and others I'm sure. What about the 43 ?? Stats wise he holds the record. It's just a number ??????
Its the significance of the #3 because of his dad.

While it is significant to some it doesn't mean that it is significant to all. Just as I pointed out that the 8 car had a driver killed, who was a cup champion, but no one is screaming to have his number retired and probably didn't back then.

My feeling is that it is just a number. That doesn't lessen the importance of the number and who it was connected to. Sr. was a victory driven driver and a good representative for NASCAR. I have to believe there are many other things that can be done to memorialize him, but for me retiring a number isn't it. How many out here ever heard of Joe Weatherly and his fate ???
