| Re: Oh, Mikey, Mikey, Mikey! I just went to my Sleep Apnea Forum. Guess who's got the latest post? NASCAR driver -- could it have been apnea? I'll admit it, I was just a little amused when I read this Yahoo Sports News item about NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip who claims he fell asleep at the wheel. Should we send him information about sleep apnea? .... I just couldn't resist mentioning it. Don't worry ... I'm going to respond directly to the SA Forum. Man, does this story have legs, or what?

I have Sleep Apnea, but have never come close to falling asleep at the wheel. That's more like Narcolepsy. I don't want to get off topic with SA, but I don't think Mikey has either one! He screwed up! It's ironic that a Cup driver can't handle an SUV on the streets! I still think he was drunk and avoided the cops. |

| Re: Oh, Mikey, Mikey, Mikey! Got quite a few responses on the Sleep Apnea Forum, most don't know anything about NASCAR, and they all say Mikey was drunk. I explained that if he had SA, there is no flippin' way he'd be allowed to drive a race car of any kind. I guess now he admits he was speeding. How does he know he was speeding if he was asleep?! I'm watching qualifying/practice right now. Mikey's about to get on the track, and the announcer said, "It's been a tough week for him. He was in a serious accident, and he was lucky to walk away." "Walk away?" Man! Is that a pun, or a slip of the tongue? The announcer also mentioned the "black cloud" that seems to follow Mikey since Daytona. DW didn't say a word. Kurt wiped out during practice ... has to qualify in a backup car. |

| Re: Oh, Mikey, Mikey, Mikey! It happened to Dale Sr., back in.../ (someone help me on this...) 1998 or 1999? He fell nitey-nite (actually passed out, if I recall correctly), as I remember it, on the race's pace lap. I don't recall them ever stating what the cause was.
