| Just curious and hopig one of you guys/gals may know...with the new 17.9 gallon fuel cell, how many laps can these guys go (Cup drivers) until they have to pit for fuel at Texas? Thanks PR |

PVT,it depends on how they jet the carb,what gear they use and how hard they push it or just draft.Avg.I would say 4 to 6 mpg.We will use 5 mpg here for the math.17.9 gal. x 5 mpg= 89.5 miles divided by the 1.5 mile track=59.6 laps max.If the tires hold up.I would say they would pit every 55 to 57 laps but who knows for sure. ps. welcome to you here. |

| Re: Texas Motor Speedway: Laps tell fuel? they know the ball park for gas consumption, so if the can weighs heavy when it shouldn't they know they didn't get it full...conversely if it's light, then is there something (wind, temperature, etc.) causing the gas consumption to go up? either way it will cause more calculations to determine when to refuel next.
