| Re: Next For NASCAR Honestly I think it's gone about as far as it'll go, vehicle-wise. NASCAR now has a race car independent of any manufacturer, except for minor engine individuality's and a mfg. logo. What I'm wondering now is how NASCAR is going top handle future radical design changes in the various brands. For example, if all the makes represented in NASCAR go to a Scion look? You know, the model that looks like a four-wheeled toaster. Will NASCAR redesign the current race car, or will they keep what we have now for the foreseeable future? Possibly the Law of Unintended Consequences might rise up and bite NASCAR in its design-controlling butt. Another thing which may plague NASCAR in the foreseeable future is the way NASCAR manipulates the race finishes. With mysterious debris cautions, and spec cars, they are getting to a point where the people who believe in the whole thing actually think EVERY race must finish in a photo, or a near-photo finish. Will the fans be satisfied with this format, or will they raise the bar higher and demand even more exciting "finishes" orchestrated by NASCAR? In that sad eventuality, I shudder to think what may happen next. One good thing I for see in NASCAR future is that, by the year 2020, they "might" telecast a race without the analyst explaining the difference between tight and loose. That will be definite progress! Since NASCAR is so big on cultural diversity and wanting to appeal to the Latino market, maybe they'll start a new series featuring low riders? To appeal to a younger demographic which actually knows something about engines and speed, they might start a series for the "rice rockets?" I, personally, don't see that as a total negative, just an irritant. However, as much as NASCAR has irritated its long time fans lately, that would be a minor irritant. Dear friends, we do live in interesting times.
