Has anyone ever thought of all us folks that applaude, whine, or just plain vent here, to get together at a cup race and party like there is no tomorrow?

I'm only asking because this old Naval fly boy is going to one of my old ships reunions this summer. We bench fly.
Every winter the NASCAR people that are waiting for new chassis's, or toys of that sort, bench race. So there cant be much difference.

Why not get together and have some fun?

Will be at both Dover races this year. This pretty much our "sure thing" for near 20 years now.

Other than that, perhaps an unpredictable/occasional excursion to the likes of Richmond, Pocono.

Local track attendance includes Wall, New Egypt, Bridgeport, and rarely few local others less often visited. Good number of NJ local tracks are now shopping malls. Looking forward to Thunderbolt Raceway in Millville. The "plans" for this are really interesting. Cannot know if the reality will match the plans however. Would make this a visit point.

Me thinks the overwhelming majority of "fans" will only be found within 50 feet of their home refridgerator.

If this were not so true. Being a small business owner I can close up shop and go at will. As long as the bills are paid that is. That's how I get to go to Tucson each year for a month or so. I can only race in the rain for so long. I need to get my webbed feet dry once in a while. I can remember the monster mile when I was a kid groing up in Virginia. It wasnt such a good one then, but times change and so does people, places and things.

England had a Navy but got whipped proper by a bunch of crazy yanks 200 years back. A-6's forever.

As an Englishman living in NC, I reserve the right to respond on behalf of Her Majesty's Royal Navy..... 'we' the affore said Navy of Great Britain and Northern Ireland respectful request that such slurs on our illustrious history be minimized. We were sucking on limes and sinking ships before you guys even learned to paddle!

A-6's ????? I'm an A-4, P-2V & P-3 Orion man myself. Worked in AIMD on ARN-21's. Now that might tell you a bit about my age.

I can't speak to the Navy lingo that this thread has become, nor do I have a clue what a "bench fly" or "bench race" is, but a get together would be a hoot!

'Bench race'.... who can slide an open beer can down a bar without spillage, caution goes out for a titter-totter on the edge, but saved by the unexpected lap it falls in (the bench fly)!
