I really must admit that I havent had this much fun just sitting in a chair in such a long time. I get up to check my e-mail early in the morning. I'm on this thing late at night. And I get the greatest laughs, and indepth conversations about the only sport that I have ever considered truely my sport. Sure I played baseball and football but once the knee got broke I went back to what I grew up around. It wasnt until I got in the Navy that I found out cable ties, 200 mph tape, pop rivets and all the goodies that were in airplanes were for airplanes and not made specifically for race cars. We were the first team in the Northwest to have radio comunications with our driver. Courtesy of Uncle. I would go into pre ex, (pre expendable items) and get titainium nuts and bolts, and all kinds of cool hardware that were just begging to be put on our race cars.

Any way, this beats keeping a bar stool warm. Prevents DWI's too!

First of all, I love the idea of getting together. It would only be possible for me during the summer months because my son is still in school, but I'd sure be interested.

Part II of thread, I worked for the Navy as a civilian in the late '80's - mid 90's on the SSN-21 Seawolf Submarine. I was the facilities manager and DoD Certified Security Supervisor. Loved it! The submariner's I worked with were the most wonderful gentlemen I have ever met, truly a class act. With a daughter just out of the Air Force, I am quite partial to anyone in the service, past or present. My dad's a former Navy man. Glad to see so many of you on here who have served for us in the past are safe, happy and living a good life. Well deserved.

So now - let's meet up and party!!

Choices for me would be Loudon, Dover and maybe the Glen. I'm retired so anytime would be acceptable.

I know, it didnt look that hard to me either. A number of years ago we got the chance to work out of J.D.'s shop. Never a better man would be found that helped the underdogs. Did you know he had a cigar lighter installed in the dash? Had to have that cee-gar. That was always worth a laugh.
