Re: Samsung 500 "Live Chat" * Fort Worth, TX

I don't necessarily feel compelled to jump into the Montoya discussion but I will. Montoya is doing well this year. Since he is a rookie to this series i have taken exception with Simon on his abilities as a cup driver. I too, believe there is a lot of hype going on. To the defense of Simon and Juan he is doing better than average. I feel Denny Hamlin did better last year as a rookie, but as I stated I think Juan is doing better than average. Compare him to several veteran drivers and see how he stacks up. 13th in points is not bad at all for someone dealing with the learning curve. Hamlin had Busch experience. Montoya had none. In my defense I am still waiting for more definitive proof of his wonderous abilities. He did win a Busch race but had to take out his own teammate to do it. Actually he probably would have passed Pruett anyway but got a bit overzelous and took him out.

Now about the "my Driver" scenerio. I don't have a "my driver" and don't follow how anyone can have this strict rule of following just one driver. Although I can't understand it I accept it.

For Simon ... congrats on picking an unknown to our series. I do think it is good to pick an unknown versus jumping on the bandwagon of the accepted front runners. Unfortunately more and more of TODAYS NASCAR fans are the ones who jump on the front runner bandwagon. TY none of this applies to you. You are loyal to your team owner !!! Not many of those around.

Did you see what Bob Dilner said about the Stewart/Montoya thing? It all stated a couple of laps earlier. From what I gather, it sounds like Tony being Tony, didnt care for Montoya trying to pass him and was cutting off his line. Montoya being the intense racer he is, was not backing down and was determined to get around the 20 even with his line being jeopardized. You can see in the replay, Tony wasnt giving him much room.

I dont see how Montoya can be blamed for that....in fact I gotta say that Tony even asked for it.

And what was it PPS said back on page 8 of the live chat...."Montoya lost it"......clearly not the case
