| Re: Paul Dana Sorry man but that wasn't a speed problem, that was driver error. He didn't heed the warnings over the radio or lights on he track and slow down. Scary scene. Very sad. Truly amazing that Carpenter wasn't more serously injured or killed also. Probably one of the worst looking accidents I've seen. The one though that will never stop amzing me is Michael Waltrip's wreck in Busch car years ago. He hit the wall right where a metal gate opens, the car forced the gate back hitting the end of the wall head on. The car just exploded. Michael actually just stood up and stepped over the remains of the car beneth him and WALKED AWAY. No climbing through anything beacause there was nothing left. That was simply God saying not yet Mikey I have more for you to do. |

| Re: Paul Dana My sympathies to the Dana family, his team, team mates and friends. Rave20- I agree with you, unfortunate, to say, even so, it is a tremendous tragedy, possibly even more so because of that reason. Restrictor plates aren't a play in this - nor should they be in Nascar, because they put everyone in a pack, they need to be able to get away from each other, like they use to be able to. Now they can't, I think it makes for a worse situation on the track. Another horrific wreck - Geoff Bodine in the truck series at Daytona, the only thing around him was the roll cage. |
