| Re: Food City 500 in Bristol Your Right There Is, And He Should Have But That Doesn't Change The Fact That J. Gordons Response Would Have Been The Same No Matter What Track He Was On. But Man What A Race! To All The Men And Women Who Drive These Cars For All The World To Enjoy, Fast Driving And Safe Dreaming! Thanks For Doing What You Do!!!!!!!! |

The Gordon fight just makes for good TV. Anybody think that was a little calculated or was that 100% authentic?

Today was a great race, typical Bristol Motor Speedway stuff and exciting. I missed the 1st 100 laps but what I saw kept me on the edge of the seat. You guys catch Truex's crew chief cussing at him after he blew a decent finsh?

| Re: Food City 500 in Bristol I did not get to see the race on TV, but thanks to NASCAR.COM (not a commercial) I got to hear Truex Jr get "fussed at" on his radio. Good stuff. He will learn over time. Stewart has learned more than people give him credit for |

| Re: Food City 500 in Bristol Yeah, I think TonyStewart may really be making progress on controlling his temper. The bump of Trueex was a reasonable thing considering that he was holding up the freaking race. Stupid rookie mistake.

| Re: Food City 500 in Bristol Love the quote, just doesn't seem to fit at the time. LaBonte is classy, I responded to a Petty fan on a different chat (OK, insert having a life here...) that I was excited that Petty Enterprises is on the way back up. Gordon is whiny, but is a decent driver, If my son did not adore him I probably would not root for him at all, but to be booted at the end of the race (Kenseth) is wrong. Truex needs to settle down, pick his battles. Love him or hate him, Gordon has become an icon. |

| Re: Food City 500 in Bristol As so many of you have mentioned, the Bristol bump was indeed prevalent and, if you have been following that track, is normal and frankly, looked forward to by many, if not most of the Cup fans. I always enjoy seeing the new (qualified) drivers in this venue as it seems to demand much more concentration, stricter interaction between spotter, crew chief and driver than most tracks, unrelenting in that no drivers can let up for the full race event. Tempers are a natural thing here....some years ago, I remember Kyle Petty (during and interview...we was driving the black #42, Mello Yellow at the time) stating that his view of the Bristol track was to close all the gates, shut the doors, fill the arena up with water and stock it with bass. I allow that some may still feel this way. Gordon is a highly overrated driver...needing the quell of Evernham to keep him on track in his early Cup years...falling on his face for a year or so and finally finding a crew chief that can keep him on track. Gordon is a good driver (better than me), but certainly not a great driver...his crew should get most of the attention for his championships. He also has uncanny luck escaping wrecks etc (I did mean luck as his talents don't merit this record.) His antics to day reminded me of the bully who got kicked out of the sand box, grabbing his toys and running home...home tonight probably will be the NASCAR trailer. All-in-all, a very good race and Truex, along with the other young guys did a great job in a crouded fish bowl. The saftey factor was enhanced by Spencers retirement! I just hate to see the German manufacturer win any, let alone two in a row! Yikes !! |

| Re: Food City 500 in Bristol In an article by Bob Margolis of Yahoo! Sports, Stewart had this to say about bumping Truex: "We are running for a top-five finish there at the end and he is holding both of us [Stewart and Jeff Gordon] up... "I mean, I got in the back of him, but they said he had a problem with the 24. I don't care if he wants to settle it, but settle it in the bus a lot later on." |

| Re: Food City 500 in Bristol Watched on Fox and listened to MRN radio. After the race, Harvick made a comment on the radio that about had me shooting pop out my nose. "To bad Busch had to win, he is such a whiner." Also: He said he was sorry he couldn't get to Busch's bumper for some Kenseth payback. |

| Re: Food City 500 in Bristol I watched Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain tonight and believe it or not Greg Biffle's mom called in to complain about how little coverage he got today after the race. He came back from 3 laps down to finish 7th and not a word from the media, she said. She was upset no one was talking about her boy. HA! Whose mom calls in to a show to complain about media coverage? It was too funny.
