| Re: Michael Waltrip-Toyota Racing I hope I don't get struck by lightning or have a plague of locust visit me for making the following statements, but... Mikey's performance has been so pitiful that I ALMOST find myself wishing he would make a race, EXCEPT I can't think of a single driver/team that I'd like to see Mikey replace. In Mikey's defense, when he does make a race it won't be a "Start & Park" thing. Mikey will stay in the race as long as he can, and will drive to the best of his limited ability. My last defense of Mikey; it could be MUCH worse. Think of all the inane and deplorable interviews we'd have to put up with if Kenny Wallace were in the spot Mikey is currently in.

Kenny Wallace having even more access to a camera and a microphone... be afraid; be very, very afraid. |

That may be true .....especially when we have a set of rules that rewards David Ragan for replacing Mark Martin at Roush by giving him a guaranteed start after a horrendous start last year....martinsville wasnt it? Anyway I'm quite sure that an announcement will be made BEFORE the end of the season in regards to the top 35 in the meantime I hope that Michael does qualify for a few races

(2) I'd love to see them change it before season's end, but I don't see NASCAR doing something so logical. But I'm betting next season it'll be the top 25 or 30 in owner's points. I think the ONLY thing that would cause NASCAR to change the Chosen 35 Rule this season would be if, somehow, Junior had a series of DNF's and had to qualify on speed, then screwed up and missed a race. NASCAR would then take immediate action because, as we all know, you can't have a race if the driver who sells the most tee-shirts isn't in it. |

This is probably one of the least true statements that have been thrown around ever since Toyota announced their involvement into Nascar. If you are looking for a manufacture exclusive to the US you wont find one. Toyota is as much a American make as Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. If you think this is your grand daddy's Nascar then you are greatly mistaken. Just like Ford, Chevy, and Dodge are no longer your grand daddy's. Things changed longer before the start of the 2007 season. Time to live and learn. |

| Re: Michael Waltrip-Toyota Racing Is that a good thing? The average race fan tunes in to watch a race, not be inundated with corporate logos, slogans, and other bs. I find myself watching less and less of these races mainly because 50% of the actual broadcast is commercials. Then you have a Mikey that wont shut up about his sponsers when being interviewed. Enough is enough! Thankfully, 42 other drivers are NOT like him. |
