For me the "LOOK" of the car is inconsequential. Racing is about performance. Performance of the entire team. As long as they all have the same technology available to them I don't care if they race vehicles that look like bulldozers.

Racing is about performance, I started watching nascar because of the speed and competition, but I do think the looks of the cars matter aswell, over the years the aero dynamics of the car aswell as sponsers and color schemes have changed making them more attractive to the eye without losing performance, I think that if this cot is safer then its a no brainer...

I like it. It actually looks more like the stock cars then the other cars did. Hope it catches on. I can't wait to see what it will do at a aero track.

I guess I would challenge you to put a Chevy Truck next to a CTS truck and note how close they are. CTS is no more stock than cup is.

ahh yes........but the CTS trucks never claim to be stock even though it is part of the NASCAR family

i think it is much more implied in the Nextel Series that they are "stock" cars

I think the biggest problem with the COT is the radical departure from the Cup car look. the Cup cars have evolved over time to look like they do .. true, you can't find one on a showroom anywhere; ditto the COT. but the COT looks more like a sporty sedan. Performance, safety, etc are immaterial, the problem is they don't look like Cup cars while the Busch (aka, Cup Lite) cars do.

hmmm...never thought of racing bulldozers
