sorry we hijacked your thread. you might try Google-ing "NASCAR handicapping" to see if there's anything other than those 2 articles that will help.

I know when I'm in Vegas, NASCAR's on the board in the "sports betting" area, but since I don't bet on NASCAR, I've never been interested in how they determine the handicapping.

After CTS race is over, they leave and Cup takes their spots - it's worth the price of a ticket just to watch the dosey-doe.
Gotcha! Thanks!

They call they "Owner Points," but that's kind of misleading. I think they would be closer to correct to call them "Team Points," since one owner [now] owns multiple teams.

The team gets the same points the driver gets in any given race, plus they get 34 points if they enter and make a qualifying attempt but don't make the race. An example of this is Mikey. As a driver he has -27 points (73 for Daytona -100 penalty) , but the #15 team has 109(73 +34+34+34+34-100).

Hope this explains it.

I wondered how the negative points would affect Mikey ...

I get it ... I think ... will I remember it? No flippin' way!

Thanks, Bob!
