| Cot OK guys, lets hear it. All the crap about the COT. I think it's a step in the wrong direction. The greatest thing about our sport was that the different manufacturers had different body styles, and we had to work like hell to get them to where they were competitive on the short, intermediate and long tracks. Thats what made this sport interesting. We might as well have a spec body, spec engine and spec drivers. I thought that was what the IROC series was for here. All of the improvements towards safety of the drivers I applaude. But these improvements could have been done to all of the existing machines. Why try to fix something that is not broken? We used to say "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday." I know that is an old phrase, but it was the truth. Now just watch and see, the manufacturer's are going to pull out again for they will figure the need is no longer there for them to back racing. NASCAR has cut their own throat on this one. |

| Re: Cot Soon, very soon coming to CBS ... NASCAR Racing. Reality programing at it's finest. Maybe it'll be like that dancing show. You get a real driver and a TV sitcom person who will double up in a car to win at an 8 mile oval in the Mojave desert. It's true ... just wait and see.

| Re: Cot The real sad thing about this whole program is that it can not be disolved as an Alka Seltzer in a glass of water. Is this the price of progress? Years ago a rather inventful old boy built a new modified to run in the open comp division at a track in Lake Oswego Oregon. This was back when the mod squad was the outlaws of the generation. Early 70's. It took only a few weeks to dial it in. When it got there, this little racer smoked every car it came up against. The outstanding thing about this car was, it was four wheel drive. It was so fast it got banned. So I ask again, is this the price of progress? |

| Re: Cot Are you talking about Talladega, Daytona, or one of Penske's or Bruton's cookie cutter tracks? Inquiring minds need to know. |

| Re: Cot I just found this in Matt McLaughlin's recap of the bristol race. I thought you might enjoy it. "Here’s one to debate among conspiracy theorists. NASCAR buys their way to dominance in the diecast stock car replica industry, and now they can save money by only producing one body for all four makes of cars. Of course, the looks of the thing ought to be the final nail in the coffin of the ailing toy car market."
