| Inpound Races I normally don't waste my time on the sites which are there to only sing the praises of NA$CAR, but this one caught my eye: Richmond COT event remains an impound race I thought the impound races were a thing of the past? You know, one of those ideas which might have actually helped the smaller teams and saved them money, so it must have been bed. Now, here it is again... My question is: If NA$CAR is impounding one race, how can it not impound all of them, except Daytona? Yeah, I've heard most of the arguments: (1) The big teams don't like them because since money is no object with them, they have all weekend to tweak their set ups. (2) The drivers hate them because they might actually have to go out there ands drive a car that is less than perfect. (3) Bruton hates them because he makes an entire weekend extravaganza out of his races and a Saturday with no practice really crimps his style. Yet here one pops up at Richmond? My feeling is that if NA$CAR does one impound race, it should make all, except Daytona, of them impound. If they don't do them all, them don't impound any. Inconsistency stinks of confusion and poor business practice, IMNSVHO.

If I were the Wood Brothers or Hall of Fame Racing, I'd be looking over my shoulder. They both have substance but they aren't the size of the [NA$CAR-preferred] mega-teams. They could be next? |

You qualify it you race it. |

| Re: Inpound Races My opininion is do away with the top 35 owner points and each former champion can use the past champions provisional in one race per year and only 2 per race and let that be decided on the current years point leader among the past champions. Other than the past champions provisional a driver qualifies on time and time only

Worse than being fired you could be directed to the GTG NASCAR Forum trailer for some punishment. It isn't pretty at all. Just ask those that have been escorted into the weird, wacky world of the GTG Hauler. |

| Re: Inpound Races Postulate: (n) : to assume as a postulate or axiom (as in logic or mathematics) Since NASCAR appears to be absolutely obcessed with having provisional positions of one kind or another, here are a couple of postulates which might be a change to the current way NASCAR fills the field. I don't necessarily agree with these but I'll throw them out there just for conversation and comment. 1. The top 30 teams have a guaranteed starting spot in the field but each owner can have only two guaranteed teams. (For example, as it stand now, Jeffy and Johnson would have guaranteed starts, but Shrub and Mears would have to qualify on speed) 2. The top ten finishers in a race would have a guaranteed start in the following race. Everyone else would have to qualify on speed. (The more I think about this one, the better I like it. I can envision all types of possibilities) Before next season, IF it appears the same number of teams will be on hand, I'm betting that NASCAR reduces the Chosen from 35 to 25 or 30. |

Besides, I hear the NASCAR-hugger, Dave Moody complain about the Chosen 35. That means, to me, that NASCAR is planning a change and using Moody and SIRIUS as a trial balloon. |
