Jeff moved him out of the way, Johnson just came down and made contact with Gordon, and it slowed Gordon's momentum. Gordon may have won the race if Johnson didn't come down and make contact with Gordon. |

I thought Johnson did a great job blocking Gordon. As I said in another thread, I think blocking for the win is great ... a unique talent ... but dangerous! Still doesn't make me a Johnson fan!

| Re: Goody's Cool Orange 500 "Live Chat" * Martinsville, VA O but I have read them all and the fact is jeffie didn't dump him so by your own standered he don't have the passion to win anymore that is what you have said "win at all cost" |

| Re: Goody's Cool Orange 500 "Live Chat" * Martinsville, VA this is a Quote by you mike "If you are faster, and the driver dosen't let him by, then just move him. The same thing goes with 2nd being slower. If he is slower, then he needs to get more out of the car. If the leader dosen't let him by, then move him. Sr did that all the time, and I respected him for it because it showed me his passion to win, which alot of drivers don't have, because they care too much about their competitors. Sr didn't, all he cared about was winning" This was your point last week has it changed?

Anyway, it was a great finish. The only thing that would have made it better would be to see Johnson and Gordon wreck and the 3rd place driver win ... whoever that would have been. |

| Re: Goody's Cool Orange 500 "Live Chat" * Martinsville, VA Mike I don't think any of us get your point. Last week it was win at any cost and this week it's don't take out your teammate. What exception to your rules will change next time around. Jeff may have "bumped" JJ but he didn't try to win at any cost. Just who do you feel is most important to HMS ???

| Re: Goody's Cool Orange 500 "Live Chat" * Martinsville, VA Well I wish that were true but .... I do try to take note of everything that is said. Partial quotes are like statements from politicians. What they are telling you is true ....... but not the entire truth. |

| Re: Goody's Cool Orange 500 "Live Chat" * Martinsville, VA poor poor jeffy, he bumped Johnson a couple of time and thought he was suppose to move over for him. So when that didn't happen he was whinning about it. Tisk Tisk, Gordon helped create the monster, now he has got to live with him. |

I don't think any of you are getting my point also. But I will say it clearly. When it's not your teammate, it's fair game. But when you are racing your teammate, you should be extra careful, but still try to win. Jeff tried, but was careful around his teammate, Jimmie Johnson.

| Re: Goody's Cool Orange 500 "Live Chat" * Martinsville, VA Jeff never said Jimmie was supposed to move over for him. He even admitted in the post-race interview that Jimmie was doing what he was supposed to do. |

| Re: Goody's Cool Orange 500 "Live Chat" * Martinsville, VA I think we all already agree that we do not get your point. No you never said anything about excluding teammates either .... but your only statement was "WIN AT ANY COST". Your statement made no exception about anyone at that point. We may not have agreed with your point of view but now some see you bending your own rules to fit the scenerio. When the "overhyped" versus "over rated" discussion was going on many couldn't see your point. The lines you draw seem vague at times. So vague that they change under different conditions. My self I guess I'll never quite see your point because it appears to be ever changing for the current situation. If you can live with it then for me that is fine. What I do see is more posters that do not see your point, than those that do. I just don't think you can have an on and off button on passion. If Jeff really was upset it didn't stir up any passion in his driving. Bumping and winning at any cost are two different ways of driving. If he was really interested in owner points then he would not have been mad. I guess we'll never really know if he was mad or just passionless. |
