Different...... in a way. I still believe teammates or not, you still should atleast try bumping him out of the way. But I believe you shouldn't dump a teammate. But when it's a another driver, you should go at all costs to win the race. If that means spinning him out, then let it be. It's called being a team player.

Below is one of your statements from a previous thread

You all are missing my point.

I'm not saying crashing is ok. Of course I want to see racing and not crashing. I'm not saying I want to see WRECKS, what I am saying is when you are racing to win, you should do whatever it takes to get that win, not just ride around because you know you can't pass him clean.

Racing to win and crashing people are 2 different things. I don't want to see wrecking, but I want to see actual racing to win, not just people riding around because they know they can't pass the leader. These drivers say they have a passion to win, but they do not have a TRUE passion. If it's the final lap, and I tell myself, "I have a shot to win this thing", I'm going to do whatever I have to do to take that opportunity and win the race. I don't care if you like it or not, I want to win and I will do whatever it takes. Sr had this attitude, and I respected him for it.

Again, let me make it clear. I do not like to see crashing, I'm talking about racing for the win, not wrecking and demo derbys.

Whatever happend to the term "rubbin is racin"?

That brings up a whole other subject. I am against multi car owners. Team Roush, Hendrick Motor Sports and yes Even DEI, but if NA$CAR is going to allow more than one team per owner they should be allowed only two cars. Roush is a perfect example, NA$CAR limited him to five so now he has partnered with someone else (can't remember who) so he could conrolling interest in more than five teams. Allowing five teams per owner will someday come down to nine owners filling all 43 positions.

Pardon me I had a brain freese NA$CAR is only concerned with how much money owners can funnel into the organization.

Teammate or not, all bets are off on the last lap! From what I saw today, Gordon could have easily wrecked Johnson for the win. As you guys say, Gordon should have used the "rest of the track", but he didn't have the speed.

Still, I have to believe that if Jr. was in Johnson's spot, Gordon would have wrecked him in a New York minute.

So if two brothers are playing against each other in a baseball game, one is pitching ... he should let his brother get a hit ???? Or maybe a former team mate ... he should let him get a hit. NOPE. Passion must be 100% or not at all. You cannot have it both ways

Teammates should have been a consideration when you came up with your opinion. After all there are many, many teammates out there.

You said that they should do whatever it takes to win, so it really shouldn't matter if it's his ''teammate''. Whatever it takes to win!!! That statement should as well cover a ''teammate''.

Just to clarify then ... who can you crash & pass and who is not on that list ????

I didn't realize you could turn true passion off and on.

Well, just for the sake of playing devil's adovcate here, and throwing something new into the mix... what if the order comes from the team owner, not to race your teammate hard? Considering this is the guy who pays the bills and everything, don't you pretty much have to obey?

I shoulda known you'd come up with some sensible type of response. My answer would be take a look at the Busch race in Mexico a few weeks back. The owners were on air and said they had told Montoya not to crash Pruett. Obviously Montoya's PASSION exceeded the owners desires.

How was that for a response ???
