Just another change that is getting way to much hype. The good teams will remain good and the rest will continue to struggle as they do now.

LSC, no offense to these drivers, but when Ward Burton qualifies 14th and Schrader qualifies 15th, then the COT is having an impact with the smaller teams in one way shape or form. And of course, you have the top teams like HMS and Gibbs up there. It is qualifying, but still. I want to see how the COT performs in the race for the smaller teams. Of course teams like HMS, Gibbs, Childress, etc will run good, but I want to see how Morgan Meclure, Team Red Bull, etc do with the COT. If they have good runs, like in the top 10 or top 15, then the COT is giving the smaller teams a better chance.

Re: COT what's it GOT?

Only time will tell Mike. From my point of view qualifying and reality are two different worlds. When you hear them talk about qualifying and race trim they are talking two different cars. Most will admit that fact. Running up front is important but when Mat Kenseth starts in the back of the pack and moves to the front it is more than obvious (to me) that it is race trim that means the most. Qualify well. Go into practice and set the car up to run the race.

The COT may or may not make a difference. I won't let one race with it make up my mind, just as I won't let one Busch victory for Montoya convince me he is the real deal. After a few races I think we'll all have a better take on how the COT will affect everyone.
