Where is the best online resource for NASCAR diecasts?

I would like to know everyone's opinion on where to get the best die-cast deals (online), especially the older cars, etc. I have a modest collection, just over 100, 1:24 scale. I would like to add to that, especially the older, hard to find die-casts. I have traditionally went to the typical retailer, antique malls, auctions, and garage sales to find my selection, but I would like to start using the internet instead of gasoline. Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest to everyone that if you have any internet addresses that you PM this member to avoid putting links into your messages. It is a forum rules violation and may well get deleted. Thanks

Re: Where is the best online resource for NASCAR diecasts?

PM's would be welcomed, thank you. But please give me the links so I can easily find what you are referring to. Not all domain names line up with what the site is called.. I'm looking for some hardcore collector diecast sites that have auctions or classifieds, etc. Or even any collector clubs in the Missouri area. Any insight would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you!

Re: Where is the best online resource for NASCAR diecasts?

Hi PackRat, welcome to GoTeamsGo.

We're not trying to be difficult but you have no idea how much trouble we have with people who take advantage of our community in order to promote something. Just today, we've had probably 15 people post ads here. Some of them are blatant ads but some are disguised as innocent looking posts. 99% of these promotional posts come from a new member in their 1st or 2nd post. Since it's sometimes impossible to know whether a brand new member is intending to promote something, we just don't allow any links like that.

From our forum rules:

Quote:
  • We are not a venue for free advertisement or promotion of any website, cause, movement, group, product or service. External links in posts will be removed at the sole discretion of GoTeamsGo and its moderators so best to not link to any other sites. New members who break this rule run the chance of being banned immediately as spammers.
  • External links in posts are allowed but only to these 2 types of sites: 1) obvious news articles at recognized news sites 2) newsworthy blog posts. External links in posts will be removed at the sole discretion of GoTeamsGo and its moderators.
We're a great place to chat about NASCAR & other sports but we're not going to be a good place to get recommendations on websites to buy NASCAR diecast cars. You'll be better off using Google to search for diecast websites.

Thanks, Ross

That's me trying to pay the bills to keep GTG going. People who want to promote their products/services can buy ads here if they really want to support us & not just freeload. You should only get it once per visit & never when you're logged in.

And PackRat shows his true colors:

I liked these display cases so much that I signed up for an affiliate account so I could get a little credit for spreading the news, but I don't want you to think I'm sending this info just to make a buck. I really do love the cases and just want to share the info.

If you want me to get credit for guiding you to their site click below:
(link removed)
Clicking on the above link will also get you a 20% discount on ALL their products!

Or, if you feel I'm spamming (which I'm really not trying to do), you can click on the link below to go directly to their site and I won't get credit:

As a fellow enthusiast, I'm more interested in you seeing their products than getting credit for sending you there. But my affiliate link will get you the 20% discount if you're interested.

Kind regards,
PackRat
99% of the time when a new member posts a link to another site in their 1st few post, that person is here under false pretenses. In this case, this spammer (who tells us they're not spamming) asks a setup question:
"Anyone know where to find diecast stuff?"

And then answers his own question:
"I just happened to find a place that makes great stuff you can buy. Here's a link: (link removed). And I'm not spamming, I'm just here because I'm trying to help you."

It takes a fair amount of money to run GoTeamsGo. I sell advertising (like the e-tickets ads) to try to make some of that back. Spammers like this are taking money out of my pocket & just trying to take advantage of us.

We've got a hard & fast rule for new members that they cannot post any links. There's just too many guys like PackRat that are trying to cheat & advertise without paying.

How You Can Help
Moderators & Admins catch almost all this stuff before you ever see their spam but please let us know if we miss something. And please support the advertisers (like e-tickets.us.com) that play by the rules and help pay for our community.

Thanks, Ross
