Who cares? That's called having a passion to win, like Earnhardt, Petty, Pearson, etc had.

Not that it matters or that anything will change but I care. Pushing and shoving isn't racing. Even the worst car on the track can take someone out. That isn't necessarily a passion to win is it ??

A passion to win means you do anything you can to win. If that means bumpin someone out of the way, then that's how it is.

But, it depends on how you look at it.

Now read what I wrote before you respond. I said the worst car on the track, not the 2nd or 3rd place car. I believe that Jeff Burton has a passion to win but at the same time he wants to "race" to win. When someone comes up behind you, you are defenseless to what they might do to move you. Once they get into you and spin you, it is all over for you. I'm not sure about you but I don't consider that racing Dale Sr. did that often and I never liked it when he did it and I don't consider it racing today. Yes that is my view.

Petty and Pearson were not in the habit of knocking people out of the way to win. They did it with dominate cars.

I agree with you. Now some door to door banging is OK, but the "bump and run" is just plain dirty racing, in my opinion. I applaud Jeff Burton for his class.

Anyone can spin someone out as they exit a turn, where is the skill there??

I guess I'm just not a fan of that type of racing.

no no, the "worst" car on the track shouldn't take out the best. But when you are 2nd or 3rd and have a clear shot at winning it, you need to do whatever it takes to do it. If that means moving you out of the way, then that's the way it is.

But, like I said, it depends on how you look at it.

I like the way Jeff Burton handled it. Like he said, if you have to wreck someone to win, what have you really won. If you can't pass em without wrecking em just stay behind and do your best. Burton does have class. I hate to see the ones that will wreck someone cause they can't pass em on their own.

Yes, Jeff BURTON is a class act. He has a passion to win as well as everybody else out on the track. He, along with many other drivers just don't feel the need to take out the leader to win. They want to actually win, not just take it.
