Would you like to test that theory?

But I'll give credit where credit is due. I know some female NASCAR fans who have quite a good knowledge about NASCAR. Then again, I know some who don't even know what the term stockcar is!

You'll need to show us that you can do the job without taking sides, no whimpering or crying and ..... of course you gotta bring beer. Not just for me, but for all the "GUYS" !!!!!

LOL!!

How do I get to be a "good ole boy"? I'll bring beer for the guys, and tequila, salt, and lemons for the ladies. How's that?

There is no flippin' way I will moderate why _______ is the worst driver! Nice idea, though.

Agreed. And I know some guys who also don't know what the term "stockcar" is! In fact, I know many guys who can't understand why I watch cars go around and around in circles. As they say, "If I have to explain it to you, you wouldn't understand".

A male friend of mine was shocked when he found out that I know what "stagger" is and could explain it.

Don't cut us ladies out!

That is what "The Good Old Boys" do upon exiting the GTG hauler. I'll never cut the ladies out. Happy to have all of you here and wish there were more.

Yea, I have alot of friends that don't understand why I like to watch "cars going in circles" in their words. Then again, like you said, they don't even know what a stockcar is, and what it actually takes to drive a stockcar. Some think that driving a stockcar around in circles is easy, when they haven't even driven one themselves and don't understand what it actually takes to drive a stockcar.

True.

It's my understanding that NASCAR was born from, as they say, "running moonshine".

As they also say, "Know Your NASCAR".

The technology today is incredible. It's not just a bunch of "good ole boys" driving in circles. The engineering, physics, aerodynamics, pure talent, and on, and on, and on, are the closest thing to "rocket science" in sports that I can think of ... but I'm sure someone will correct me! Ok ... maybe drag racing. But how hard is it to go really fast in a really fast car in a straight line?! Even I could do that!

I'm getting WAY off topic. This thread started out about Hamlin ... don't know how we got here ... and before LSC threatens me with the "trailer" again, I'll sign off on this topic!

Trust me Penny, "Driving in a straight line" is sometimes just as hard and just as DANGEROUS as going in circles. Consider yourself corrected.

Souporscotty,

I knew someone would rebut me. No big whoop! I actually went to the "drags" as a teenager before I discovered NASCAR in my 20's. Man, those drag races literally made my heart skip a beat. Those are some mighty powerful machines!

I am not comparing "difficulty" or "danger" at all. I was simply trying to point out another sport that MAY be technologically compared to today's NASCAR.

I still believe there is more "strategy" during a Cup race than a 1/4-mile drag race. If you put a drag "rocket ship" under my butt, I could probably master it before I could master a 500-mile Cup race.

I respect your correction. Doesn't bother me at all. I've never driven any type of race car, except a simulator, and backing a "real" Modified into the garage, so what do I know?

Hey P,
Don't worry about Soup, the only ''car'' we see him drive is this one:
When he does drive bys in the prediction threads!!!!
