| Its been slow at work, so I was off today and got to see it. A lot of fast cars had trouble, including Bobby Labonte who took off like a rocket at the beginning, but later blew his engine. After that, Biffle was the class of the field for most of the race, but started fading with a tire going down. Carl Edwards also went down many laps after hitting Dave Blaney on pit road. Kurt Busch was also running in the top 5 most of the day, but smacked the wall when David Stremme pushed up into Harvick, who hit Busch while they were running three wide. Jeff Burton was also quick, and in the top 10 all day, but also had tire woes at the end. Earnhardt Jr had a strong 3rd place finish, which that team needed. And of major note, Kyle Petty pulled off a 8th place finish.....the best for those guys in a looooong time. Robbie Gordon was VERY fast and may have been the fastest car on the track, but had to pit for a tires, then the caution came out, so he lost a lap. But, he got his lap back the hard way (no lucky dog) and drove the wheels off the car and got up to 7th, only to have another tire go down with 20 or so laps to go. The nail in the coffin was his speeding on pit road penalty. Towards the end, Mark Martin pulled really close to Kasey with about 10 to go, but Kahne picked up the pace and took off! I am really happy for him and is one of my favorites out there because of his personality, and driving skills on dirt. He's a nice kid without the cocky attitude!

| Re: NASCAR Golden Corral 500 Race Bad luck for Busch. I can't believe Stremme took them (the 29 & 2) into the corner 3 wide and couldn't stick his line. Wiped out a good #2 car. It was pretty early in the race too. That's why he's got the yellow stripe, I guess.

| Re: NASCAR Golden Corral 500 Race I dunno, Nevada. It looked to me like it was Stremme's fault... Those comments made by Busch about Harvick (in the article you linked) were made on Kurt's Radio. Perhaps Kurt may have changed his mind after viewing the tapes. From my recollection, Stremme defininately wobbled up into Harvick, and then Harvick into Busch. You could say that Harvick should'a backed off... they always talk about "the monkey in the middle" should back off, but it's not a rule or anything. Another thing about that article... Did you see that Kurt Busch had surgery to have his ears pinned back?!? That's funny as hell. What is he? A Boxer? (the dog kind) |

| Re: NASCAR Golden Corral 500 Race I missed the race. Darn job having to educate the youth of America. I guess I'm going to have to watch Speed Channel tonight to find out the latest about Harvick/Busch. That could be quite a dog fight there...they both have pretty short fuses. The ear pinning, jam, made me laugh so hard I cried when they talked about it on a pre-show race (before Cali, I think, because they were talking about plastic surgery in LA and had a poll as to which driver you thought got plastic surgery over the off season). I had to call my husband at work and tell him that I found it so funny.

| Re: NASCAR Golden Corral 500 Race I saw the Bill Lester thread and that it was locked... so I'll say what I have to say here... He did what he needed to do... he ran laps and stayed out of trouble and finished the race... that's something... |
