Most Boring Tracks

Ok, let's see how much trouble this topic will get me into ...

I'm curious what tracks GTG members consider the most boring tracks on the circuit. It doesn't matter who your favorite driver or team is.

Let's take today's race in Vegas. Even one of the commentators (yes, it could have been DW) said that this was a race "against the track". How much fun is that to watch? When cars are separated by 2 or more seconds, I might as well be watching Golf!

I watched today, off and on, but only tuned in during a commercial from the movie I was watching.

California is another one of those tracks that I consider a snooze. When the field is strung out in single file and there's not much passing going on, I lose interest. Is that "good racing"? Only so much can be attributed to the media coverage.

The end of the Busch race on Saturday was much more exciting than today's race.

I prefer the more competitive tracks like Daytona, Talladega, Bristol, and the like.

What do you think?

Re: Most Boring Tracks

I'll probably get struck with a bolt of lightening but Bristol is a track I don't care for. I'll qualify that by admitting that it may not actually be boring but there just isn't enough actual racing time for me. My blood pressure gets higher when there is a good accident but they seldom make more than 25-30 laps without a caution of some sort and the accidents (to a degree, thankfully) are not spectacular. I suppose it really doesn't fall into the catagory of boring for most , but with so little real racing "I" find it a race that I could miss and not miss.

You know, it's funny... I'm fairly newly back to NASCAR, but I thought yesterday's race was actually pretty darn exciting. Yeah, Johnson pulled away at the end so there was no chase for 1st place, but there were some good battles elsewhere in the top 10. It was the first time in a long time that I watched a race from start to finish.

Haven't formulated an opinion on the most boring tracks yet, but I'm sure looking forward to reading everyone else's thoughts on the topic!

Re: Most Boring Tracks

Well the race fan I am, I enjoy every race I watch. So..... I guess my answer would be NO tracks are boring to me....... now the worst racing at a track? California. There is no side by side racing what so ever. I have heard California may be considering repaving the track, if it will make the racing better, we will have to wait and see.

I thought Vegas had bad racing before they repaved the track. The race I saw on Saturday and Sunday had much better racing than I have seen for a long time.

Yes, New Hampshire is a snooze ... it's bad enough on TV, but it's even worse at the track.

Road Courses are awesome. They should put 1 in the Chase, and get rid of 1 in the regular season.
