Some people may not realize that the "newer" threads are at the top, plus then we have people like me and Soup who bring old threads back to the top!!
I have a suggestion for an addition in the thread name: possibly add the track name but definately the date of the race?!? Everybody elses opinion, please!! |
Thanks for all the input guys.

TY .. keep me posted on the outcome. |
Right, we try to never delete a thread unless there's a major problem with it.
Just a quick point, 95% of our new members come here because we show up so well on the search engines like Google & Yahoo. Without new members from google, we'd be a pretty dead place.
OTOH, when something like this comes up, we can usually figure out a way to find a happy medium.

I remember Ross saying in a thread about trying to add the name of the thread somewhere in your posts for the search engines, which I do try to remember to do, usually only in the predictions threads. |
Dates in the title of the race threads are not my favorite option. We're starting to have visitors find us because of the threads we had from last year. That's a good thing. If the title of the thread says "2006" & they're looking for 2007, they're less likely to visit GTG because that looks out of date. Track names & race names in the title are good.
It would be awesome if you guys wanted to help us attract even more visitors. Simple way to do that here:

wrt closing threads, it's not a big deal but I'd rather not close a thread unless there's a problem. If someone does accidentally post in an old thread, it's easy for a moderator to move their post to a more appropriate thread. How about we try that for the time being & see how it goes?
