| Re: Pre-Qualifying Inspections That would make sense. You never see drivers missing races because pre race inspection took too long. I don't see why practice should be any different. |

Finally a good reason for the cup boys to run in the Busch series ... practice, practice, practice |
| |||
| Re: Pre-Qualifying Inspections But when the COT is used full time, the Busch series won't be useful for practice until 2009 when Busch starts running the COT. |

| Re: Pre-Qualifying Inspections Why not get rid of pre qualifying inspections and make all races impound races. This would do away with drivers missing practice and give the officials from the time a driver climbs out of the car after qualifying until the are stapping in to race to get all of the cars inspected to the satisfaction of NASCAR. This way if a car is in violation of rules it would be on the team to bring the car into the rules guidlines quickly enough to make the race and if they dont have the time, oh well. Do this and then a post race inspection and it should cut down on the ability for teams to break the rules and increase the ability to catch the cheaters. Just my opinion

If you detect a little sarcasm I apologize. I generally shoot for the whole shabang. Here is one point of view. Not necessarily all mine but a little something to think about. The one car, small time teams may be less apt to cheat (Knaus) because they cannot afford to take that chance of making it into the race on speed and then get booted for being illegal. The same basic premise applies for pre-race inspections. No need to take the chance. With that possible thought in mind maybe NASCAR thinks that inspecting the cars that are for sure getting in is the best route to follow. Since the teams like Cope, Lapage and that group have a much lesser chance of getting why hold up the shoo-ins for the has-beens. Since I have no direct knowledge of how pre and post race inspections work, as far as who gets it done when, I may have just wasted a lot of good keyboard time for naught. Now that last statement was a "little" sarcastic.

There's likely more here than I've the information or gray matter to understand, but dang, why not - inspection time for all, one time through only, and start practice immediately after the last entry has tried to pass. Obviously this has to be limited so inspection does not take three days. Say perhaps present yourself for inspection (be in line) within a defined period or don't complain. If ya fail, ya go to the penalty box. Soon as practice starts (after the last entry is inspected) you can begin your correction and re-inspection process. I know, I know, there's fault within there somewhere. You can please some of the people all of the time, ya can please all of the people some of the time - but you CANNOT please all of the people all of the time. |

| Re: Pre-Qualifying Inspections No matter what the resolution might be there will always be someone who is upset. I do like the idea that everyone goes through the inspection process once and then practice starts. If you fail you try during practice. Yet another reason to not push the envelope of the gray areas. I want to know when Brian France is going to hire us. I believe we have all the answers. |
