Re: Pre-Qualifying Inspections

I've always heard qualifying is set by drawing... if that's true... than how in the hell can they do prequalifying inspection by points? That don't make any sense. Then again.... neither doesn Na$car.... okay... got to go... I think I put to much whiskey in my coke.

This way if a car is in violation of rules it would be on the team to bring the car into the rules guidlines quickly enough to make the race and if they dont have the time, oh well. Do this and then a post race inspection and it should cut down on the ability for teams to break the rules and increase the ability to catch the cheaters.

Just my opinion

Does anyone have an opinion on this idea??

Waaaay back when I was a military hero (???) I forced myself to learn about the wonder of water. My intake was somewhat high and I was told that soda is what upsets the tummy. After ridding myself of that evil soda I was able to consume a normal military portion of the magical potion.

And this relates to pre-qualifying how ????

I thought they still did prequal inspections at impound races... they just didn't do any practicin after qualifyin. That's why most cars would qualify poorly cause they were in race trim already.

Makes you gauge how much alcohol you'll need for the race dependin on how prequalifyin goes.

Your driver passes inspection= Cooler full of beer
Your driver fails inspection= "Honey.. where's the key to the Whiskey cabinet"

Yes, that is true, to see in which order they go out to qualify.......

BUT......it would make sense that inspections are done in that same order, however why is it that those at the end get no practice?

Is it possible that they qualify by drawn number but get inspected by points?......just wondering where the problem is coming from

Re: Pre-Qualifying Inspections

I was watching SPEED's coverage of the Bristol COT test last night and I heard something very alarming. NASCAR used this new space age template device they called "the claw". It has nearly all the templates NASCAR will used all fused to into one big... Well claw I guess. But what I heard was for some reason, this took extremely long. Guys were saying they were worried they might have to bring that cars in on Thursday so they could qualify friday . If that's the case, NASCAR should just ditch the claw.

BBW, in the future I think that "the claw" as you call it will speed things up. Its just new to everybody ........even the inspectors

for the first few COT races Nascar says they will be showing up a day early for inspections

your right Q I looked at the picture "the claw" looks very bundlsom and not very mobile so I can see how it would slow things down till every one gits used to it.
