DW Really IS going to Drive the Dream Machine

I just read on Jayski that during a roast for Darrell Waltrip, his wife gave him the helmet and "permission" to race the 99 dream machine at the next Martinsville Busch race. Those commercials are fun for the 1st time but annoying after that, ya know?
I'm a DW fan, but I know some of you aren't after reading the Boogity Boogity thread. Should be interesting, maybe he can even stay on the lead lap.

It's not that I don't like Darrell, I am just tired of seeing him acting silly on those Aarons commercials pouting "everyones got a dream machine but me". He is lowering himself for the almighty dollar, but hey, Mikey is worse if its any consolation. Thats just my 2 cents.

I know, that Toyota thing really bugged me when they started up in the truck series. I do like him as an announcer, though.

I like D.W., he is a big ham! The commercials do get old, fast! Hey, why shouldn't he get a piece of the pie? All these new drivers are being "groomed" and on their way to millions. Nascar didn't do all that back in the day, they got "peanuts" for all the hard work they did, and they see all the new guys climbing on board, and become instant millionaires. Let him have his pie and eat it, too!

Like I said, lowering himself for the almighty dollar. I think he's got enough money that he doesnt need to act like a baffoon on commercials. He CAN say "no, I wont act like a child but will push your product". Even Dale Jarrett has class when doing the big brown truck thing. Waltrip just plain acts stoopid and we all know he's not.

I agree with all you said Nevadastars, but we all know that money can make people act stupid!! D.J. does have class, maybe D.W. just has a little less class.

Re: DW Really IS going to Drive the Dream Machine

I think we ALL act stupid for money. Everyone here has been "dared" to do something stupid for a couple of bucks... at least DW's making more than a couple.

You'd be whining over the dream machine too, if you were offered 10's of 1000's. Don't lie.

I think DW's commercials show he doesn't take himself too seriously. They make him seem like just another doofus like the rest of us. I'm reminded of Burt Reynold as the big yellow chicken in Stroker Ace

I look forward to Martinsville.
