Merle, here...in Wamic, Oregon (ltiny little town of two stores and about 225 people...)...stumbled on this site while looking for information on past NASCAR champs and thier rides...in an effort to complete my diecast-model collection (est $37,000 now which includes a 2004 Monte Carlo Dale Earnhardt limited edition, real car!). Found to be a super interest in sharing some of the interests, attitudes and insights of you-all. Retired USAF, travel around the world...Halibut fished with D.E., RCR with 15 others in Homer, Alaska in 1995, after he ran Pocono...great opportunity and chance of a life time. Been NASCAR fan since can remember, but mired in the old-school traditions of the sport...don't much cotton to the Japanese and German entries in the sport. Announced all Alaska races for over 9 years in all portions of the state...have tons of attitude regarding the races...appreciate hard racing and don't mind som distemper on the oval as long as it does not jeapordize either the outcome or lives...look forward to sharing much more with all of you...and really glad to see the distaff set enjoying and sharing the sport too...always room for all of y'all..

Wampinrock, that is unbelievable you actually fished with Dale Earnhardt and Richard Childress. I am soooooo envious. Dale was a mans man no doubt about it. Just curious though, what exactly is "the distaff set"?

Speaking of diecast, I pretty much sold off most of my valuable DE stuff, but still have a lot of them left, as well as early Neil Bonnett and Darrell Waltrip Bud cars, Neil Bonnett Country Time car, Tim Richmond Folgers, David Pearson Chattanooga Chew, and many others I have totally forgot about because they are stuffed away in a closet. I keep saying I'm going to get a display case, but it just hasnt happened yet.

On the main Nascar Forum page, just click on New Thread at the top left......and type away. It's a relatively slow site now because its new, but I have a feeling it will pick up.

I'm having a great time getting this community started but it's been a real eye opener with how many spammers have been trying to promote their website/service/product/whatever here. Most of these spammers signup and just start making their spammy promotional posts.

To combat them, I've made a few changes designed to discourage them. One change is that new members can't start a thread until you've got an undisclosed minimum number of posts. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thanks for joining and chatting with us.

Every day are "little" community is growing, that's great, it should turn out to be a well rounded community. I don't know if anybody has checked out the other pages, I have, I'm not really into other sports, but I've been getting alot of useful knowledge into some of the other sports from checking those pages out, too. Hi... I found this site on ask.com

I'm looking for folks to chat with during the week about the race, what tracks you've been to...going to any races coming up..??? I went to Atlanta and Talladega last year....went to Daytona 500 this year (met Matt there) and have tix for Talladega end of this month.

My main man is #17 and my husband roots for #12, so we have our own Rousch vs Penske rivalry in our house.
