Jayski

Is it just me? Am I just imagining that the bulk of what Jayski has had on his site this week is mostly paint schemes, driver appearances and other stuff which has little to do with racing? I know that there has been some reportable news and rumors out there.

I'd like it if everyone read the forum rules link in my signature before posting again. Thank you.

Re: Jayski

I'm cautiously re-opening this thread because I feel there is a lot of good discussion to be had in reference to Jayski.

Along with Lefty I would suggest that everyone take a quick look at the forum rules and post your messages using those guide lines.

Re: Jayski

Good call, LSC. So the topic at hand... has the quality of Jayski's reporting deteriorated recently? What do you think?

I don't have a problem with Jayski. I like how they have expanded it from just news to paint schemes, driver ratings, TV ratings, etc, while continuing to give news. I've seen a ton of news posted on the site this week, along with a ton of other stuff.

Re: Jayski

Seems to me that his sources must have dried up, or owners have just put some fear in the garages about talking out of turn.

I do think they still have news, but not the "insider" info they used to. Or when they have had rumors, they have been just slightly off.

For example, he had a rumor on there last year about Jr running a goodwrench scheme, and it turned out that is was still Bud, just a look-a-like theme. As it has become bigger, the insider part has kind of dropped off.

Still a site I check out, but for different reasons!

Re: Jayski

Re: Jayski

I've been to a lot of sites that are easier to navigate also.

That may be the big issue. They did make a change a year or so ago, and I haven't liked the layout since. The info may be there, it is just so hard to find!

Yep .. if I'm correct they do not have a search menu at all. That doesn't help and isn't user friendly at all.

Re: Jayski

I've been visiting Jayski's site since basically he opened it in the late 90s. I still think he does a great job with his rumors. You also have to remember it is early in the season so there wont be much rumors until about mid way. I basically use his site as a Nascar news hub. Basically I can get all my Nascar news from him. If there is a story I see on his site usually he has a link from the source. For years now Jayski has been one of my first stops during my daily trek on the internet.

Going back to what I said about navigation ... when you've been at a site for a long time you are certainly more able to get where you want to be and know how to get there. I guess my previous post was more about my inability ...........

Re: Jayski

I think one big problem is ESPN. They want the news for NASCAR Now and they own Jayski.com lock, stock, and barrel. It seems that his news, rumor, and gossip has turned to ESPN video, ESPN stories in the articles section, and only ESPN approved links.

Its got to be a change when sending an email to Jayski may mean that it ends up on TV that night.
