I followed Gordon as he came up through the ranks. I knew he would hit it big!!

I have to admit, I'm a fan who loves to hate him! No offense to you Historically, any driver who monopolizes the sport was not popular with the fans. Who was it who won seven races in a row years ago? Petty? Waltrip? I don't remember.

Why is it that we single out a driver to "hate"? Being an Earnhardt fan, he was loved as strong as he was hated. As Earnhardt said to Gordon, and I'm paraphrasing here, "It doesn't matter if they cheer or boo, as long as you've got their attention." He was right, don't you think?

Jeff was winning 13 races a year if you go back to 1997-1998. That's when he was really dominating.

It used to eat me up really bad when people said Jeff is this and that, but I've learned that the fans who pay their money to see Jeff race and pay for Jeff's merchandise appreciate what he does. Earnhardt was right about alot of things, no exception here. All popular drivers are hated.... so what do you expect?

Mike like you said all popular are hated I think it is all dominant drivers are hated. ether way my question is, In time the fans seam to turn around and the boos turn to cheers. It happened for Sr., Tony, even Kevin but why has the fans not ever turned around for Jeff seams at the tracks he is the most disliked driver week after week. And I have to admit he is a very good driver.
