Speed Channel said that the Napa Auto Parts #55 will not race this weekend. He got edged out by the Dominos car.

The sad thing is that Mikey, Wahrd, Jeremy and A.J. and Whitt all qualified faster than four drivers in the Chosen 35 and one past champion.

As much as I dislike Mikey and Jeremy, I think THEY, along with Wahrd, AJ and Brandon should be starting the race Sunday.

Just my personal opinion. This guaranteed starting stuff really sux!

i agree with that totally

time is time and they should stick with it

but for now the way they do things is set in stone......so all Toyota cares about is seeing their cars goin' round and round on Sunday.....i ask again....will they stick with Waltrip ?

Unless there is something written in the contract that lets Toyota out, they are stuck with him. What an awful thought. My guess is they will stick it out for the year at the least.

If Toyota is as smart as I think they are and as long as they have been in other types of racing they probably do have a loophole. I just don't know if they will use it.

Mikeys loophole last year was buy someone else's ride (Derrick Cope), and stick his Napa stickers on it............which I think is bogus too.

All of this controversy!

Now would we have this controversy if the fastest 43 drivers make the race?

Yup but slightly different. Somebody's "Golden boy / gal" would miss the race and some devoted "fan" would lament over the days when "Golden boy / gal" would have made the race on owners points and the guaranteed 35. The argument would be based on the "consistency" that is/was associated with being in the top 35.

Now that being said - let the best qualifiers race.

Not sure why Toyota would drop MWR based on missing qualification based on a rule that is coming more and more in to question that eliminated them. Bet they clearly knew the possibility of this before engaging / entering the fray. MWR qualified within the standard starting grid (43). I'd suspect Toyota would be encouraging NASCAR and fans to raise the noise towards eliminating the top 35 thing.
