It sure didnt take Blaney (14th) or Vickers (15th) long to get used to qualifying them...........and each have way less Cup experience than Mikey. These cars (Fords, Chevys, Dodges and Toyotas) are so similar to each other it's crazy. My guess is Mikey will still struggle even with the CoT which will be on a level playing field. He has never really been a strong performer on any track besides the plate tracks with DEI. I dont think he knows how to set up a car, which is kind of crucial these days.

I tuned in, in the middle of Inside Nextel Cup, and Waltrip is talking about he picked up 4 points. How did he do that if he wasn't in the race?

Re: Michael Waltrip missed the Auto Club 500

well let's see, less blaney and jerrett, they have spots garrenteed.

riutimen is the only toyota to race into both races so far. so toyota is having a rough time period.

with out adoubt mikey is in a big hole starting the season minus 100 pts.

where is jarrett in the pts. he may be able to hold his top 35 simply by being able to race each week.
that in it self is unfair, I think the old provisional system was more fair then this top 35 bull.

Don't get to used to seeing Jarrett in the races due to provisionals ... he only has a few left then he wil have to make it in on speed. I see the whole provisional and top 35 system as totally unfair. Let'em race their way in or go home. I don't care what your name is or who your owner is. Fast is in and slow is out.

Re: Michael Waltrip missed the Auto Club 500

jarrett is sitting in 28th in points, so if he maintains that position on the 6th race he'll be in the top 35 , no provisional needed.

That's right... the new top 35 takes effect on the sixth race. That would leave him with one last champions provisional wouldn't it?
