Re: Sunoco tells Harvick to wear another helmet

OMG!!! Like anyone cares about official sponsors. Don't they realize this just makes them look like whiners. I'm referring to Sunoco! Who cares. I'm less likely than ever to use their fuels now, just due to the crying.

Racing is becoming a sad affair.

And I do realize they paid big money to the the official fuel, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Re: Sunoco tells Harvick to wear another helmet

I'd have to say that Sunoco probably have a good point after paying for the exclusive rights advertise fuel........

Could this be termed "cheating?"
If so, will the guy in charge of putting logos on Kevie's stuff be banned from his office indefinitely?
Will Kevie and RCR lose points over this?
Since the size of the logo was one of the major bones of contention will NA$CAR mandate templates for logos, in the future?
Or will Robin Pemberton make it all good by deciding that the responsible parties didn't "intend" for their logos to be offensive?
Or will the fans just rise up and decide all this crap is just plain SILLY?

Re: Sunoco tells Harvick to wear another helmet

I have a stellar idea... let's get the Sunoco brass all together in one room... tell them to grow up and get a life.... b%#ch smack them and tell them they have to sit in the corner. Then we find Brian France and beat the livin s%#t out of him and make him write on the blackboard a thousand times "I destroyed the sport that made me by allowing Corporate idiots to manage me".............. buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuulllllllllllllllllll llSH#T.

Re: Sunoco tells Harvick to wear another helmet

Undoubtedly there should be a yellow caution flag thrown immediately. Rewind the tape and see who really crossed the scoring loop first. Was it a car with Sunoco in it or Shell on it ????

Maybe I'm a bit dense but, to me, the big question is:

Why did NA$CAR enter into a contract with a sponsor which apparently gives the sponsor legal control over what happens in NASCAR?

Speaking of sponsors, here's a little tidbit I heard today. I heard this last year but I thought it was a joke. Now I'm not so sure...

Five years ago Gillette was considering sponsoring a Cup team. They approached NASCAR and during the many discussion the marketing plan for "Young Guns" was brought up. NASCAR advised Gillette to "Forget your team sponsorship; let's do this as an exclusive Gillette/NASCAR deal and we'll provide you multiple high profile drivers to pitch your razor."

Cup immediately loses a sponsor and NASCAR gains one, unencumbered by messy team details.

Nice guys, eh? Present back; insert knife.

Re: Sunoco tells Harvick to wear another helmet

I say sponsors should shut up and let the boys race......................
Good god this crap is stupid I think sponsors are like kids they will do whatever they can git away with. So I say treat them like Winnie little brats. Take your belt off and bust that A$$. Sponsors should be seen and not under any circumstance ever be heard.

It reminds me of the little tiff Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell had the other night on American Idol. Don't you just hate it when two ladies get into a cat fight?

Let me see if I have this right... For a significant, agreed-upon amount of money a person (corporation) allows someone to do something to them that they may or may not admit is wrong, may or may not be appreciated, or may or may not even be ethical? But if the price is right they'll allow it?
Hmmm...??? I believe that there is a word for that but it slips my mind at the present...hmmm...??? I think it rhymes with mostritution, but I can't put my finger on the word at the moment. Someone want to help me?
