Carl ran a smart, conservative race at Mexico.

Speaking of Mexico, what do you think the chances were for John Paul to win that race IF Pruett had caught him before the checkered flag?

I can't wait to see J.P., Pruett, Said, Robby Gordon and Stewart all on the same road course. Sears Point should be a must see this year.

No doubt the road courses will have an entirely different flavor this year with Juan in them. The way he was running, and if there had been a clean pass I don't think Pruett was going to get back into the lead unless Montoya made a small error somewhere along the circuit. The way he came back from 19th I'm not sure anyone was going to beat him.

Congrats to Edwards, but my perspective is that he was running for points instead of going for the win. With Harvick not running the race, 1st place in the standings was his. The next question was by how much. As you know I am not against consistency. Being consistent can also mean that you need to be conservative. If he wants the Busch championship, and he does, then he needs to run clean races and score well. No victories required. Isn't that completely opposite from your views ???

Under normal circumstances I, too, don't think Pruett could have caught him. However, I believe Pruett restarted in around 12th or 13th after the spin and he finished fifth, getting back there in...??? five laps? Too bad the cameras focused on J.P. after the spin and not Pruett. I believe his climb back thru the field may have been ever bit as impressive as J.P.'s was, from 19th. I think that if Scott were to have caught him, J.P.'s car would have experienced a Wriggly's Juicey Fruit enema with Scott's front bumper.

Egad!!! Have they no shame? Not only do the Cup Raiders come down to Cup Lite with their Cup teams and technology, take money needed by BGN teams and thumb their primadona little noses at the race fans by using their charade as an undocumented practice session for Cup, NOW they're even points racing in Cup Lite, too???!!! All these Cup Raiders must be trial lawyers-in-training, because they are apparently incapable of experiencing a single shred of shame.

As far as consistency goes... like time shares, pyramid schemes and communism, it looks good on paper but... Someone will ultimately profit from it but it is seldom the actual consumer (read: race fan)
As far as NASCAR goes, in all too many cases, consistency equals mediocrity and boring racing.

Unique can easily equal wierd.

Thank you for the gracious welcome back. The whips, chains and rack in the GTG trailer were painful, but I found the water-boarding and electrodes attached to various body-parts to be kind of enjoyable, after a fashion.

"...missed my "incite." Fruedian slip? <VBG>
