| Busch Regulars To Start Up Front DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. Where did all the Nextel Cup drivers go? For one qualifying session at least, Cup drivers – who dominated the Busch Series last season – were shut out of the top starting spots in a Busch race. Joe Gibbs Racing development driver Aric Almirola, who is running a combination of Busch and Cup races this season, won the pole for Saturday’s Orbitz 300 at Daytona International Speedway. Close behind were series regulars Jason Leffler and Jon Wood. In fact, Martin Truex Jr. (fourth) was the only Cup regular in the top five. | Re: Busch Regulars To Start Up Front The Busch Series may be a little more interesting this year. Less drivers are doing the weekend double, and with the COT and all the testing rules that come with it, there will be even less incentive for Buschwhacking. Everybody root for Jon Wood today. Hopefully he can carry on on an old family tradition. |
