waltrip took all the bs about him cheating and put it behind him today and raced his way into the daytona 500. i was looking at the results and it had there speed next to the names and he was faster than every one in the top 10,could this mean drivers should watch for waltrip sunday.and by the way he has won it twice alraedy so he knows how to get to victory lane.

According to some, the BS will follow him for quite some time to come. When you are caught cheating on day one that is a stigma that will remain with you each and everytime your name is brought up for discussion. My guess is you'll see that happen right here on this forum.

I'd use the name Knaus but yes .. same type of issue. Also I meant that day one means the first time a new manufacturer entered the series. Pretty embarrassing when it's your first time and boom !!! You're labeled a cheater.

I agree, but he will probably post a top 20 or maybe 15 because he does know how to get around plate tracks. But he'll be lapped traffic as usual at the other tracks.

If he keeps his nose clean he will be there in the end. I'd say he doesn't do any worse than a top 10. I think now that the pressure will be off his chest we will see a different side of Mikey this weekend.

I don't consider myself a fan of his, but I don't think he knew what was going on with his car. Sucks because he is the owner but with all that is on his plate I could see how he could not know.

Also one thing that I have not heard people talk about the last couple of days is sabotage. Think some body wanted to make Toyota look bad? Kind of funny that it was Waltrip's car, the head spokesman for the brand. Plus I wouldn't think that a driver like Mikey with his resume in plate racing would need to cheat. Something doesn't add up, too bad we will never find out.

I think he's definitly go the under dog thing going for him now , I was rooting for him yesterday, although I don't consider myself a mikey fan, he did a bang up job gettin to the front (no pun intented Jr fans).
in the inter views he gave after the race I believe he was sincere, he was truely sorry for what had happened wearther he knew it or not.

Sabotage is an interesting concept, but I would think that this being their first shot a cup racing there must have been people around those cars 24/7. Seems unlikely that it could have happened. Also if they had any thought that it did go down that way they would have been screaming it right from the beginning.

Waltrip racing handed over the additive to Nascar yesterday so I don't think it was a conspiracy.
