Howdy!

Hey Ya'll!

In case anyone's a wonderin' about my "handle" it stands for RED WHITE & BLUE TRUE.

I'm in and around Owensboro, KY quite often (many friends and family there) and the word is not that respectfully kind for ole Darrell or Mikey for sellin their souls to the Japanese. "Hometown heros" they are not at this point!

So I'ma wondering how many of ya other board members here are also truely patriotic and find that allowin Toy yo yo into the "Great AMERICAN" past-time a downright disgrace?!?!?

The last thing we need is the import crowd weaslin' in.....

Let's hear ya'll give a little shout out for all the other drivers and teams that didn't sell out and boycott the ones that did. This is a consumer driven sport so STOP consumin' their crap and maybe they'll come to their senses and return from the darkside of the evil called Toy yo yo!

Re: Howdy!

Hi RW&B .. welcome to GTG NASCAR Forums. We've had several long winded discussions about Toyota entering into NA$CAR. Some for some against. If you browse through some of our past threads you'll get an idea as to how each of us feels about Toyo and the Waltrip Brothers. Can't tell you for sure which one I like the least.

Re: Howdy!

So, is it safe to assume that you're not a Montoya fan, either? I guess one could argue he's an "import" of sorts. Interesting to know how many have double standards out there, not saying you're one of them. I find it's harder to hate flesh and blood as opposed to a hunk of metal. Just wondering.

Not really sure who you were pointing your statement at. First off I am not a driver fan. I have drivers I like and drivers I dislike but no one or two favorites. I am strictly a race fan. I'm a race fan that has a few years under the belt. More than some, less than others. For me NASCAR is the great AMERICAN sport. Many of us have been down the road on this discussion already so first off I suggest you do a search on some of the threads that have involved Toyota and how people on these forums regard it.

For me the driver is the focus of the team. The great media hype person. For the most part I don't care who they are or where they are from. Just get into the car, buckle up and start racing. That's why I watch it.

I guess my post was for the orginal poster, but it really doesn't matter because for me, you just hit the nail on the head. It's about the racing. I am not a Toyota fan and I have run across few people who are. I've checked many of the threads containing opinions on this, so I know what people here think. Even though I feel kind of, well, for lack of a better word, "violated" by the Toyota invasion, when the racing is good I will forget who the car is made by. I have run across many people who feel NASCAR is promoting another corruption of the sport by recruiting foreign drivers. Doesn't seem to be a big problem on this forum, fortunately, although I haven't really done my homework on this. I think that to really enjoy good racing, you have to forget where the car and/or driver come from and appreciate the talent it takes to build or drive a car at this level.

Yep that is a good description of how many of us feel. VIOLATED. We can and will live with it but that doesn't mean we have to like it.

Talking Re: Howdy!

I guess foreign drivers are Ok...

The REAL problem I have, and any red-blooded American should have, is that the sport IS much too commercially-sponser driven. If "Nasty Car" would quit worrying so much about the almighty dollar and take it back to the sport is was "invented" and intended to be, then the world would be a better place for it!

That being said, Toy yo yo was allowed in for MORE $$$$! If the American public and fans would open their eyes and see this for what it is and do a total across-the-board boycott of this crap it could probably be nicked-in-the-bud by season's end. Especially if the EGO-MANIAC sell-out drivers are seeing that their "likenesses" are not in the limelight...Ouch, That Hurts!

ONLY THE FANS HAVE THE POWER TO CONVINCE NASCAR TO RETURN TO IT'S ROOTS and that DOES NOT INCLUDED TOY Yo Yo or ANY OTHER JAP-O-NESE CRAP ON OUR TRACKS (or on our streets for that matter!

Can I get a "He** Yeah?!?!

Re: Howdy!

Oh no!

CTS looks pretty "ricey".

Watchin' Busch qualifying right now.

As Meatloaf (and Toyota) would say - "Two Outta Three Ain't Bad"

Tokyo Rose sayeth - It wasn't - "Tora, Tora, Tora" - round eye, it was Toyo, Toyo, Toyo

Banzai!
