I still want to know what was the deal with the car, and what was the additive.
like I said they all circomnavagate the rules these teams just got caught, and if you live by the sword you die by the sword.

I still don't think nascar played fair by waiting til the last minute before letting them go to the back up car.

although the team should have been preping the back up car, can you run a back up car through tech to see if it will pass before you are actually going to use it.


I sure hope this isn't a written by nascar story, you know how thew team facing the up hill battle (4 comes back to win .

This sounds more like "cover your arse" type of stuff. Toyota just wants the world to think they are 100% against pushing the envelope. I must say pushing Mikey out the door is quite attractive to me.

I'd really have to believe that it was the team and not the manufacturer. The company (Toyota) would jeopardize their place in NASCAR if they suggested using "non-compliant" parts.

Holy cow, the rest of the cars could run around the track backwards and Mikey still couldn't win! He'd still end up 5 laps down at the finish. If NASCAR is setting up that kind of scenario, wow, who's the dummy! If this were the Bedrock 500 and the rest of the cars were the Fred Flinstone self propelled types, Mikey might be able to finish on the lead lap at least, but only because he was the "lucky dog" about 4 times. I don't think we'll see the 55 in the winner's cirle any time soon unless he cuts out the floor of his car and sticks those long legs out to run with Fred.

I am by no means a Mikey fan, but everytime I hear of a race team cheating I just roll my eyes and go on with my day. Do you guys actually think this was/is the only team cheating in some capacity? Do you guys really think that your favorite driver is 100% clean? I'm a huge Bobby Labonte fan, and I wouldn't be suprised if something came up wrong with his car. It sucks to think this way, but I do think somethings are needed to be sucessful in Nascar. I know there is a big difference between using some thing illegal and thinking outside the box. But I'm sure Hendricks, Roush/Fenway, Gibbs, and RCR are all 100% clean

All I'm saying is just watch out because next week it could be your driver.

Hi Jeffrey and welcome to GTG. None of here are so naive to think that every team out there isn't cheating. This particular thread is about Waltrip's cheating. That is basically why you are reading about Waltrip's sad adventure and not Jeff Gordon's, Kasey Kahne and so on. If you were to sift through some of last years threads you'd read a lot about Chad Knaus. By staying within the thread topic it makes it easier to find the discussions you like.

I'm sure it is! That will still make for an interesting story. They may have backed themselves into a corner with the hardcore statement, I don't know if they will really back that up!
