| Re: Unofficial Daytona 500 qualifying results odd to see all the RCR guy so far down, but this could be a bi product of top 35 rule. you know I think at daytona, everyone should start off even. run the fastest 43 cars. take sunday and qualify the first half and then on like tues qualify the back half. it costs alot of money for a start up team to come down to daytona and try to qualify only to go home empty handed because a slower guy got you spot, just ain't fair. if they want to use top this 35 rule, bring it in ,in stages. after daytona top 10, vagas, top 20, then top 25 ,top30, top 35. I also think this would add to the drama each week and help keep a few daytona only fans interested in the sport.

| Re: Unofficial Daytona 500 qualifying results Qualifying and racing cars are actually two different beasts. I do hope RYR does well in the race. It has been a realtively long dry spell for such a great team. No opinion for Montoya yet. Right now he is a media story to me. The race will show better as to what he can or cannot do. Said and Sauter will fall back. Marlin has experience ...just needs the right equipment and team. Reutimann is yet another unknown just due to the manufacturers lack of cup experience. Skinner probably will fall back. Never really impressive. Waltrip ... his troubles are just beginning. Regan Smith is an untested quantity. Ward Burton is one that many will cheer for. His absence in the series has been noted and noticed. Not a top 10 driver but someone you can cheer for as an underdog. 4 Toyota's out of the top 35 along with a 72 year old fella that should be in the stands watching the race. That is not meant as an offensive statement ... just as a statement of concern for safety. No matter what there will still be 18 of these teams heading out of Daytona before the race even begins.
