Re: Teams trying get things past Nascar

I just read on Nascar.com that 4 crew chief's were suspended, points deducted, money fined. NASCAR really dropped the hammer. It will be interesting to see if they continue throughout the rest of the year.

I just read that. NASCAR needs to come down harsh like this to get the point across that cheating is not allowed. Thumbs up to NASCAR.

Re: Teams trying get things past Nascar

I just read an article by Jenna Fryer of the Associated Press and she suggested that maybe the drivers should be suspended. I know that will never happen, but I'll bet they'd all sit up and take notice.

Re: Teams trying get things past Nascar

What do drivers have to do with cheating? The main ones that cheat are crew chiefs and the teams. Drivers shouldn't even be in this discussion.

It is a team sport so to get it across to the Team some day the driver might be penalized.

Re: Teams trying get things past Nascar

What did the #10 and #19 cars do? They were also penalized along with the #9.
Also why did the suspend the team director instead of the crew chief or are they the same?

I still don't believe the driver should be penalized for something they had no control over.

I'm sure the driver is aware of it but wouldn't admit it if they did.

Re: Teams trying get things past Nascar

The quickest way to get the point across would be to disqualify the car for that particular race

Re: Teams trying get things past Nascar

you know when I go to my local track if you do pass post inspection, you're DQ'd no points no money, it's like you never showed up.

should be the same, all so if I get inspected and fail there are no fines or suspensions, I simply don't race until it's right.

Nascar has to make everything so difficult.I think they are the ones operating in the gray area now.

I'm confused ??? Two different threads with the same issue and you seem to have two differnet views. When you don't pass you load up and go home yet you want him to be able to produce another car and run with that one. Where is his penalty for improper parts ???
