Jeff has never said that NASCAR needs to scrap the COT, but he has said that NASCAR needs to work on it. So I'm not really finding that as "complaining", but I can see it as feedback to NASCAR, and I guess that can go with other drivers as well.

You have to remember though that Jeff is good at speaking and being diplomatic. Some of the other drivers couldn't speak their way out of a wet paper bag. I really haven't heard any driver talk good about the COT, if there is one please correct me.
I did read an article like Q88 said but I can't find it yet. Jeff just has a better way of putting things, so no I would not quite call it complaining.

Well, Jeff Gordon did not do too well in the Shootout. He had electrical issues, and finished last. His 500 car was fast in practice, lets hope that continues and Jeff can win the 500.

That was way disappointing! Sorry Mike, I know how you feel. Maybe next week will be better. Anything can be better than seeing Stewart win!!

Well, love him or hate him, he is a fantastic driver. I don't think he has bad luck, as with his electrical problems in the Shootout. I think he needs a crew chief with a clue. I am not solely a Gordon fan, but I truly admire his skills. I just wish his cars would get him across the finish line. Let's face it, even if you hate him, when he is in the mix with other highly skilled drivers, the racing is better.

I agree with you, if it was my team I would have dropped Letarte last year. But I hope he proves me wrong this year since I don't get to make those decisions lol
Luckily it wasn't a point race

Erm, if Letarte didn't learn from last year, I'm a little concerned. I remember saying last year to give Letarte a chance to learn... and well this year he better perform up to his expectations. I don't see why he made Gordon stay out when some of the cars pitted to splash off, he could have made it all the way, but of course they had electrical problems so it wouldn't have mattered anyway. If I had to choose between Letarte and Loomis, I would take Robbie Loomis anyday of the week.

Now now, you won't have anything to cheer about when he wins the 500.

He didn't have him come in and splash off when the others did because the 20 previous laps told them they were going to have to pit withing the next 50 for tires. At least that is what he said on the radio. Might not have been electrical problems, he said he hit the kill switch and knew he was never going to catch up, so he prob just said screw it. He also had water temp problems in the first 20.
I don't know Mike if this is any sign of things to come, we better have a backup driver to cheer for. Juan Pablo Montoya maybe??

Re: Jeff Gordon Fans Thread

I see alot of title predictions for Jeff this year. I don't think he'll make it quite that far. I see 4 wins, 3rd in points for Jeff. I will say that HMS is going in a good direction (obviously).

I don't think he is going to have a bad season. Like I said, I'm still predicting for Jeff to win the championship this year. I think it may have been a case of hitting the killswitch on accident, it always happens. Jeff's 500 car looked fast in practice yesterday, so I still have hope.

Well, I have HMS to cheer for, and Montoya also.

The main reason alot of people (including me) are picking him to win the championship is because Letarte has the experience, and Jeff is HUNGRY to get another title. He is determined to win the championship this year, and I think he will. I wouldn't worry too much about his Bud Shootout performance, like I said he may have hit the killswitch on accident, it happens. His 500 car was fast in practice, so I have hope for the 500. I will stick with my prediction of Gordon winning the championship by 2 points over Jr, and 21 over Stewart.
