Re: NASCAR Race Scanners I don't know about those new "Nextel" ones, but everytime I was to a track, "Racing Electronics" has a trailer set up to rent and purchase scanners. Check them out asap as I'm sure they probably "sell-out". I just looked them up, they do have a site: racingelectronics.com and it says they will be at Bristol : 3/24 - 3/26/6. Maybe you want to check out the site, possible "pre-rent" or something, I don't know, I only looked at the site. Last edited by rmjvol : 03-13-2006 at 08:20 AM. Reason: delinked

Re: NASCAR Race Scanners Hi guys, New to this site but have been going to Nashville Speedway and Kentucky motor speedway to watch the BUSH Races for 3-4 years. I have not been to a Nextel race yet but have been thinking of purchasing one of the scanners and headphones for these events. I feel this would make the races more enjoyable. I was wondering, do these scanners automatically pick up the frequences being used at the tracks or do they have to be programed. If they need to be programed, where do you get the frequences. Thanks,

Re: NASCAR Race Scanners Welcome Trapper and sigalph95, it's been a long time since I needed to rent a scanner. Before you had to program the frequencies into the scanner, and they had a list of all the frequencies, I'm guessing it's the same way, but they may have made them more user friendly.

Re: NASCAR Race Scanners I did some reasearch that lead me to this site a while ago, on scanners, and the result was that I ended up with a Uniden 2500-Channel scanner. It arrived today and I can't wait to use it. There is some minor programming that needs to be done to get the correct frequencies, but it also appears to have a scan feature, but I'd have to guess who I was listening to. I WAS going to post where a link to where I got them because it was a great deal, but forum MODs think I'm just advertizing. I just wanted to pass on the good news, and I'll let everyone know how it turnes out. Thanks to those who helped me come to a decision. p.s. eBay (I hope that's vauge enough to not be advertizing)

| Re: NASCAR Race Scanners Hi HexKrak, welcome to GoTeamsGo. Because of the problems we've had, we don't allow links to anything except news stories at the well known news sites. Hope you'll stick around to chat NASCAR & sports with us here. Thanks, Ross

Re: NASCAR Race Scanners You can buy the frequencies at the track on raceday...if you don't mind spending $5 for a piece of paper. The new FAN SCANNER at the NEXTEL trailer is $50 to rent for the race. They don't sell them. That comes with audio and a TV screen.
