[RN12#1]

I'm new to this forum, and pretty new to NASCAR (2 year fan), but I don't think that I am alone in saying I have noticed a growing trend. Jamie Mcmurray is a complete mess on the track. I've watched him wreck person after person in both the Busch and Nextel Cup races. This year alone he has wrecked someone at Daytona, California and tonight, in Las Vegas. He is a menace, and apperantly, not ready to be in Cup right now. At what point should NASCAR step in and do something? After he's killed someone? After he has permantely injured someone? Or maybe, before then, like now. Don't get me wrong, the guy has a whole lot of talent. The guy can wheel a car. It just seems that he constently makes bad choices that put other racers in the wall. I've heard lots of talk the last couple of years about Jimmie Johnson on restrictor plate races and Kyle Busch everywhere, but somehow, Mcmurray seems to stay out of the press when he seems to cause just as many problems as anybody does.

Just to put my comments into some perspective, when I first started watching NASCAR, Mcmurray was one of the drivers I was fond of. Then I saw him, for apparrently, no reason, drive up behind someone and shove him out of the way. All this about 25 laps into the race. I lost a whole lot of respect for him right then. Very sadly though, he's done it again and again, and I've lost so much respect for him that there isn't much left.

I agree with you. I saw him jack up John Andretti in the Busch race at Vegas tonight. What suxs about it, it there is no penalty when that happens. He was responsible for destroying two race cars and should have at least been put a lap down. It has been said over and over, Nascar seems to favor certain drivers, and I'm starting to think its true. You are correct, he does seem to stay in the shadows when it comes to controversy.

But congrats to Kasey Kahne tonight, Evenhams Dodges needed that! And Welcome to the Board. I am fairly new myself. Its kind of slow, but hopefully it will pick up.

Glad to see I'm not sitting around going crazy being the only one seeing this go on with this guy.

And I always like to see the dodges doing well, being a newman fan. Kahne has a lot of talent and seems to always race clean. But, wow, does that kid love the high grove. Not another driver that gets it working faster than he does.

Oh well, that's racin' is a good excuse for wrecks caused by the same person every now and again. Not wrecks caused by the same person on a very consistent basis.

If I was making my comments based on one race, I would agree with you that I was out of line. However, I'm not. His reckless actions have a history. I believe it is unfortunate that his talent can not overshadow his stupidity.

Mcmurray is a danger to everyone on the track everytime he steps into a race car. He has spent several years making my point for me. Maybe tonight he had nowhere to go, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

No more than Stewart or Kyle Bush or even Rusty Wallice a couple of years ago, he could'nt drive around the track without causing some kind of wreck, simply stated thats RACEING!

In the interview yesterday with McMurray he admitted that it was his fault and that he would call Andretti today and apologize. Apologies are great if you never do it again !!!!!

I didnt hear anyone on the tube say that. Besides, why would he checkup when coming out of a turn, and there's no trouble in front of him. Andretti was punted, pure and simple. I'm starting to favor Buschwackers being told not to run Busch races. McMurry took out two cars that are running for points, while he is just out "playing".

You do have a good point there Nevada. They were discussing that very topic on TV yesterday but I didn't hear any real plans for the future. I agree that when they take out people who need and want points they are doing Busch racing a dis-service. My feeling is that pro ball players cannot return to the minors when they want to just for practice, so it should be the same for NASCAR. For the Busch drivers they are out to make it into the cup series and when someone like McMurray and all the other cup drivers invade the series they lessen the chances for exposure to the Busch drivers. They are taking up valuable spots just to get more practice time in. I'm against cup drivers in the Busch Series.

Nevadastar I did'nt hear anyone say it and I did'nt imply that anyone did.
It just looked like it to me because Jammie was comming so fast that he had no where to go. Oh well like I say thats raceing.......

You got that right, much worse. I've never thought of Jamie that way, things happen. When you dump 3 guys in 3 races and they are all po'd at you, then we talk about menace. Just my opinion, guys. Glad you found us, 26 miles.
