I don't think Dale Sr will make it in the first go round either. Yes he contributed a lot to the sport but there are so many others that I think deserve it more

I wonder, will they focus mostly on one era - maybe the originators and the first stars - or will they try to spread it around, pick one or two drivers across generations in order to broaden the appeal?

I agree: they should include pit crew members! They have a tough job, put in alot of long hours and hard work. As said "it can be won in the pits", alot of times anymore that can be the case. The "behind the scenes" guys never get any of the glory. They should have a section! It will be interesting to see the way they handle the Whole of the project.

Hey Lefty nice list. I was just curious why you included Tim Richmond? I would personally becuse I think he could outdrive anyone that's ever been behind the wheel. That dude could broadslide a stockcar around Daytona and not burn off he tires! He had tremendous talent.

However, normally HOF's have a certain criteria for consideration, most of which is based more on statistics and accomplishments. While he did win and would have won a LOT more, I don't think his numbers will hold up against most of the competition. No championships, no Daytona wins etc. Just wondered why YOU put him on the list?

Florida, I am curious why you would pick Neil Bonnett over Dale Earnhardt? They were of the same relative time perioid, and Neil has no championships. If Bonnett would get it the first time, I would expect Tim Richmond as well. And you take Donny Allison over his brother Bobby who had a much better record and a championship to boot. Just curious.
