Harvick Calls Teresa Earnhardt A Deadbeat Owner

Quote:
WELCOME, N.C. -- Kevin Harvick knows the odds of Dale Earnhardt Jr. leaving the company his father built for the company his father raced for are very long.

But Harvick would understand if NASCAR's most popular driver left Dale Earnhardt Inc. for Richard Childress Racing after the 2007 season if contract negotiations broke down.

He can't imagine how difficult it is for Earnhardt Jr. to work in a company where the owner, stepmother Teresa Earnhardt, seldom comes to the track.

"It's hard when you have what I call a deadbeat owner that doesn't come to the racetrack," Harvick said during Tuesday's visit to RCR on the second day of NASCAR's 2007 media tour. "Richard [Childress] is one of the best owners in the garage.

"You always see Richard Childress. You always see Chip Ganassi. All these owners, they all come to the racetrack. It's not just a money pit that somebody says, 'Well, I can make money off of Dale Jr. I can make money off of Dale Earnhardt.' "

All that crap being spewed out by a guy who can't get his idiot wife to take her hat off during the playing of the national anthem. Oh yeah I have a lot of respect for his opinions.

I seriously doubt that Harvick wants to stir that pot. Earnhardt would be more valuable to RCR than Harvick is. Under Harvick GM left. Jr. can bring a wealth of sponsorship. Granted GM was probably on its way out no matter who was driving but I think all in all Jr. is a more valuable commodity.

Thats true, GM were leaving no matter what not because of the driver (it was one of the best years for Harvick), and btw....there wasn't any matter for Harvick to say what he said, I'd say that if i dont have a better thing to do.

Don't think that was his intension. I think if Jr. went to RCR then KH would probably be out of a ride.

I would agree that GM would like it but with all the financial problems the "Big Three" are having I'm sure that this was a cutback that would have happened no matter who was driving. Now if an Earnhardt was back in the saddle of the ole number 3 ... that might make them, at the very least, reconsider.

While it is true Teresa should be at the track more, you don't take a shot at someone like that. Harvick should'nt be sticking his nose in DEI's business in the first place, but he damn sure don't have the right to call Teresa a deadbeat. Even Kevin should have class than that.

Hey the truth hurts.

By the way, women do not have to remove their hats during the National Anthem. They fall under different rules, generally because women in the navy have their hats pinned to their hair. Women wearing a ball cap usually have their hair pulled through the back.

Welcome Checkerboard. As far as the different rules it has been discussed many times and while it we all do know their are different rules... it is a different day and age and it is a ball cap and not a Derby hat or sunday go to meeting hat. It has been discussed many many times. ASK the vets what they think and you'll understand why. Just jump right in and we'll discuss it.

Thanks for the welcome.

I still wouldn't expect her to remove it.

When I go to Tennessee games, they actually say, "....and gentlemen remove your caps, for the singing of the National Anthem."

It's one of those things that some people are always going to look at differently.

Maryland fans yell something during the singing of the National Anthem and I think that is a bad thing to do, but obviously those people are used to it.

Re: Harvick Calls Teresa Earnhardt A Deadbeat Owner

Pull tab.

Open can.

Release worms.

Welcome Checkerboard. You've found the best NASCAR Forum on the internet and we are glad to have you here. Now about that can of worms. As our good friend Quality 88 noted this is a subject discussed many times over. I won't even get into what I see as a general consensus over the hat subject. Yes there is no written law that women must remove their hats during the national anthem. Pulling a wad of hair through a little hole cannot be that big of a job. There certainly isn't any fashion show going on in the pit area. For me it is more of a moral & morale issue, along with the biggie .... RESPECT for what it stands for and who stands for it. One other note is that at races you'll hear "LADIES & gentlemen ... please remove your hats for the playing of our national anthem."

Just to remain on topic thread Harvick really should mind his own business. He isn't one of the top 10 great guys.

Just my opinion.
