Ricky Rudd... I feel the need to announce my exhiliration regarding Ricky Rudd's announcement to his short lived retirement and entry into the 2007 NASCAR drivers Nextel Cup roster. I think all will see something come out of a veteran driver like nothing before!!!!

"...see something come out of a veteran driver like nothing before." That's a pretty tall order, but I like the sentiment. Personally, I'd be happy, and I believe Robert Yates would consider it a roaring success, if Ricky could finish in the top fifteen in points. Snickers and Pedigree might be a stopgap measure and having the number 88 competitive in the majority of the races could make obtaining another sponsor much easier.

Re: Ricky Rudd... I haven't watched NASCAR long enough to see Ricky racing, but after I watched a documentary on his big accident, I am really excited to see him in action. They made the comment that he was "tougher than woodpecker lips," and I was just amazed by his commitment to racing!

Re: Ricky Rudd... Speaking for myself, I can't say I'm totally surprised by his testing speeds, mate. Yates puts out good plate engines and Ricky is nothing if not a seasoned veteran. I think he'll make "Brian's Chosen" (top 35 in owners points) with relative ease. However, considering the competition out there this season, and the people he and Yates will be going up against, I still think a top 15 would be considered a success. I'm not sure RYR is close to being to to speed with the NASCARmobile.
