Re: Real stock cars

I've been watching Nascar ever since I was a little girl, but I didn't start getting "into it" until last season. So I am not familiar with a lot of the politics behind it (which is why this forum is educating me so much!) yet I have already formed opinions that I am sticking with firmly - I completely agree that Toyota should not be in Nascar! That is like serving Italian food in a Chinese buffet...it doesn't fit in. JMHO. And don't get me started on the "car of the future." Let a Ford be a Ford, a Chevy be a Chevy, and a Dodge be a Dodge.

You're learning real fast. Tell me please, when was the last time a Ford was a Ford, a Chevy was a Chevy, and a Dodge was a Dodge, NASCAR (an acronym which in turn should be in capital letters) wise?

No doubt that it has been 57 plus years since a Ford was a Ford and etc. The main point was that we have another poster who has issues with Toyota coming into the cup series.

Re: Real stock cars

I wonder how many posters that have issues with it, will quit following NASCAR? He!!, if I disliked almost everything about something, I wouldn't spend my time keeping up with it.

Just because I have an opinion about a thing or two in Nascar doesn't mean that I don't like the sport. I think it's incredible and I'll watch it until I lose my eyesight. After that, I'll just listen to the broadcasts.

Now, who cares if I type Nascar or NASCAR or even NA$CAR? Don't be telling me how to type, now...lol...I'm an American and I can be wrong by choice.

Sorry...it's 2 a.m. and I should be snoozing!

Glad to hear it's your opinion, because lots of folks get into this sport and say it's great, join message boards and read message board rhetoric and think it makes them sound cool to repeat it.

Re: Real stock cars

When spelling and punctuation become an important issue on these forums that will just mean that we are all satisfied with our sport and have nothing to complain about. Until that happens, and it never will, lets not get on one another about the small issues.

This thread is about "Real Stock Cars" or the lack of, .... who, what, when, where and why.

Let the posting continue !!

Heck, I can't spell worth a dern or use proper punctuation, was just trying to help a person who says they just got into NASCAR. If you (LCS) would rather I didn't respond to posts because I don't agree with you and others, just say so. I'll be glad to go my merry way.

"Isn't trying" is correct.

Wink Re: Real stock cars

When I imagine them saying, "Gentlemen, start your engines!" I picture this little Toyota engine cranking up and the little seatbelt warning bell "dinging" for the driver. Of course that's not how it will work, but in my mind's eye, that's how I envision it!

Will the COT still have the Chevy, Dodge, and Ford logos? I'm willing to bet there is another thread somewhere about this, so I'll go look for it.

I still love NASCAR (look Yelk, you have taught me something!)

Re: Real stock cars

I always thought the sound of a Toyota cranking up was like a sewing machine.

Me thinks that some of you are going to be in for a shock....sooner or later you'll be hearing sewing machines embroidering hats with Nextel Cup Champion on them for a Toyota driver.....whether its right or wrong you better get used to it
