| Re: Ford and...................... Foyota or Tord?
If ya search on it (Ford & Toyota partnership) you see there have been discussions of various types and on various topics, technologies, etc., etc. going back quite a ways right up to the present. It appears Ford would be pretty much nowhere on their hybrid were it not for technologies it uses that were developed by Toyota. Seems the "wizards" at Ford made a deal to acquire patented items in order to get their hybrid going without any guarantees of future availabilities and now Toyota is saying - "no soup for you" - and are indicating they need a higher and high percentage of the volume to meet their own needs. Apparently the geniuses at Ford did not bother to investigate developing their own or alternate sources. "Ford has a better idea" - yeah right. The more I see/read about Ford the more it feels like they have severe case of "foot shot".
There are even fairly recent discussions between Ford and GM around merging but that has pretty much been discounted by "analysts". Kinda like an anchor attempting to rescue another anchor.
Lord only knows why Toyota would want anything to do with Ford right now. They are pretty much in the toilet. Maybe acquire for the sole purpose of eliminating. |
