Re: Car of Tomorrow Good question ... and i havent seen one busch car being tested nor have any busch drivers been involved in any tests. so im going to say it will be a Nextel Cup thing for now and maybe by '08 or '09 we'd see it in the Busch Series.

Re: Car of Tomorrow oh and to add, the wing is a GREAT idea. although the new front clip is going to help with aero push ... letting air go under the wing to the front of the car will for sure help that .. that the entire problem with aero push .. no air on the front nose! however, i hope they make sure that air cant get under it and lift the cars at Dega or Daytona.. but im sure they are all over that.

| Re: Car of Tomorrow I must say that I don't like it one bit, it's supossed to be about who manufactures a better mouse trap.I believe this ruin nascar evan more. why they don't make them run stock sheet metal from the center of the wheel up and striahgt down from the center down with X amount from the track/ground. if one manufacturer has more down force then they will sufer on the areo tracks they need to get back to ford vs. chevy vs. dodge vs. toyota vs. who ever.

Re: Car of Tomorrow Hey oncea3fan, welcome to the forum! I agree with you 100%, but unfortunately, thats not going to happen ever again. Nascar is all about "The Show" these days, and they will do everything they can keep one manufacturer from dominating. They dont want to have to keep dealing with teams whining that someone else is better than them. They are banking on the fact that we will be cheering for a decal (Ford, Chev, etc) on the hood that is representing the real thing. It is going to be really tough to root for one brand that looks like all the others, except for the grill and light decals. Although, there really isnt a whole lot different in the cars now, except the engines, nose and tail. Brand loyalty will most likely be a thing of the past in coming years, and thats sad. When these new cars come out, the only thing left to separate the cars is the engines, and Nascar is not going to let one manufacturer have more horsepower or a superior design than someone else. The days of run what ya brung, and hope ya brung enough......are gone.

Re: Car of Tomorrow Bring it on Bruton. I'm all for turning back the clock and letting the manufacturer turn out the best car. I'd love to see them once again run the stock bodies. As for the cars of tomorrow being the same except for the engine .... I'm not sure there is a lot of difference there either. When was the last time you went and bought a new car and could get one with an 800 HP engine in it ????? What really happened to stock cars ???

Re: Car of Tomorrow well not quite 800, but you could order a 1969 camaro with a motoor that later dyno'd at around 650.......buy this would cost you about 10,000 I think it was RPO #ZL1 also in 2003 you could get a dicky harrell camaro at 630hp for about 100k

Re: Car of Tomorrow All this talk and testing and moving toward the IROC Car of Tomorrow just makes me wanna puke! Stock Car racing has been guided into a generic piece of crap by the France of Today! By-the-way, I also love the term 'Knausing it"...very good job and that term also demonstrates more grass-root intellegence than the cars of tomorrow. Bruton has my vote and support...someone needs to get back to the real purpose and themes. The advances in safety and inovations that keep our drivers alive and well are and have been teriffic and should always be retained, however, one of the prime interests that has helped the sport grow was the healthy interaction between the varied manufacturers. Now that both Ford and GM are having some serious production and financial woes, it seems to me that much (if not all) of the corporate dollars may dry up...they have been pumping thousands into the stock car racing game and now, with no specific car design to tout, they may very welll say adios..'see-ya.' Can't blame them...NASCAR and the US killed the golden egg at Winston, now they are aiming at the auto manufacturers. By-the-by, part of the problems with the US manufacturers was caused the the unions and the inability of our citizens to see that the off-shore vehicles have dealt a death blow to our own economy...I don't blame the dealers, they will sell anything that moves...it's the purchasers that have caused the problem...quality and cost of maintenance is at )and has been) at a parity for decades. Only my opinion...another thing, while I digress here, is the dicotomy of a off-shore vehicle sporting a 'Support the Troops' sticker...how can you send your money to Japan and support the US?? Off the sopa-box for now...sorry...

Re: Car of Tomorrow I think people are overreacting. Well atleast, i think they are. I dont, honestly, care what cars they drive .. as long as they are racing im happy. i, personally, am not in it for chevy vs. ford .. im in it for dale jr vs. 42 drivers. i guess for the ppl who are moreso worried bout manufacturers, the car of tomorrow sucks. im just more concerned with good racing than that. and by the way, 2 series is an awful idea. indy car knows that.... world of outlaws knows that .. we shouldnt have to make that mistake too!
